Anyone in Hunter's Ridge have someone coming and knocking on your door asking for donations? We just had someone come to the door and ask for donations.  Something about youth pastor.  My husband was about to pull out the checkbook.  I told him I was not giving anyone a check.  So he went to pull out cash.  "We are blessed so you need to bless others." Yeah he has a big heart but he always gets scammed.  (For example, someone came through with a story about drug rehab selling magazine subscriptions.  I wasn't here but he ordered almost $150 worth of subscriptions which we never got) OH MY GOODNESS!  Anyone else have this person come to the door today? 4951

I used to work next door to the LaBrea Tar Pits.  One day a co-worker and I were walking back to the office from lunch, when a young guy approached us.  He said he was from South Africa, trying to get to his "Auntie's house".  But they kicked him off the train even though he had a ticket.  He had been walking for hours, and now he needed $50 for a cab to reach his destination.  I declined while my co-worker gave hm $50.  She told me I was heartless.  I told her it was a scam. The next day another co-worker told us she had just helped some poor guy..."Hold on," I said.  "Let me guess.  He was from Africa just now arrived in Los Angeles?"She nodded."He was taking the train to his auntie's house, but they kicked him off even though he had a ticket."She nodded."He needed $50 for a cab?""How did you know?"I looked at the other co-worker."OK!" she said. 4951

I still get the robo-calls that tell me that the IRS is suing me.  I guess even if only 1 in 100 (or 500) people fall for it, it still pays out. 4951

@litlmama: My mom had them today too! After their pitch, she told them to hold on while she asked the pitbull for $$$. They ran. Mom's been kinda testy lately.

I love having big dogs that bark when someone comes to the door.  I will really miss having dogs when they pass.  Cats just can't deter criminals  4951
