What is it with the F* word. My son has been playing his X-box and 3 f-bombs come out. He is a great kid but, this F*word is part of his X-Box activity. We took care of the F-bomb situation but, talking to other parents I have learned the F-bomb along with other words are a part of the gaming world.WOW, Attari never came with the F-bomb.  4951

I have heard my 13 year old say "What the...." and doesn't finish it out.  He knows not to finish that question or he is off the game.  I do tell him just saying what he is saying isn't appealing either. 4951

No f bombs allowed in this house. Xbox live unfortunately mixes children with adults and teaches much more than needs to happen at the child level.

Our live is wired to tv output so we can hear what's being said outside of the headset. We have a rule;
one profanity let it slide....two it's a disconnect and find a new lobby.

It has worked well this far and our 12yo self polices
against the risk of losing his live play. 4951

There are billions of letter combinations that form words. Sort of funny we choose a few combinations to get worked up about. **** is bad but Frig is OK, even though it is a disguise of the former. 4951

I have been a substitute teacher and I can tell you kids in elementary say it a lot. Sometimes they even put mother in front of it. You'd be surprise at the words they say and what they call each other. Usually about third grade is when it starts. 4951

I don't even say that word in front of my mother and I'm an adult. Any other word is fine, I've cussed in front of her forever but that word is special. I don't know why I dont, it's not as if she is going to ground me for it. 4951

Haha my kids are the ones yelling at me & husband to stop the profanities. Lol. I have 12 yr old son. He says "What the" but never says anything. My thing is my son says deez nuts all the time it drives me crazy. I do hear it when he watches YouTube about gaming. We tell him to turn it off & I don't allow him to play w people he doesn't know on live. 4951

Maybe I am strange, but the F word (and others) never bothered me as much as "J.C." when the boys were teenagers playing their video games. I knew the boys were going to curse in certain situations, but I would not tolerate them using the Lord's name in vain. 4951

@BooBear:

I don't say that word either. My parents are gone now, but us kids would never say that at all in front of them or behind them. My 3 dds don't curse in front of me either and I never do in front of them except for a few words. The "f" word has become such a common word around kids and young adults. 4951

@sweetie: my oldest daughter has a potty mouth, I don't think I've ever hear my middle say a bad word, ever, my son won't say it in front of me or his dad but I know he has a potty mouth too. I've heard my mom drop the F bomb once in my life. It was scandalous.

ETA I use the word personally all the time.

It's a good word- it's a word to end all words and when nothing else describes a situation that is the one word that will do!!I use it but not in public or polite company. I think kids like to use it because it's the Mother of all cuss words.I do have a new favorite having spent the last 2 weeks in GER . It's scheisse. My German is getting quite good 😜 4951

I have to say as an avid gamer, adults will cuss over voice communication in high stress situations however, it is the children and teens who use foul language every other word to make themselves seem(to them) more adult. Nothing worse then a tirade of F bombs from somebody who's voice is going through puberty. 4951
