Was out running errands today. Everywhere I went dead plants and shrubs. Hope we get some relief soon. For some reason it seems like this summer the heat is hitting me worse than in the past. I'm from here and I know we have had hotter Summer's but this year I guess I'm not adjusting to it like in the past. Anyone else feel this way? 4951

I'm with you, @Weathergirl5! Seems like it's extra hot these days. Isn't it a little early for us  to be having 100+ heat index? 4951

@FairieMae I thought the same thing.  When I went to walk the dog yesterday morning at 6:15 the heat index was already 91! At 6:15 in the morning.  Sun not even completely up yet. This afternoon I got in my car and it said 116!   4951

Seems the older I get the harder it is to handle heat.  4951

It just got hot so quick this year. We really didn't have spring. I am having a hard time handling the heat! 4951

Yes, I was surprised at how things changed while I was away. Several plants I have in flower pots look pretty bad. I spent the late afternoon moving the sprinkler around to give the lawn and azaleas some relief. 4951

This week was a bad time to have to replace our ac. It reached 91 degrees in the house yesterday. Time to bite the bullet and replace rather than to repair.

More than self pity, I feel for the guys working in the hot attic and the sunny yard. 4951

I have a tulip poplar...

@Fallon:

I had never heard of that type of tree so I had to google it. Post photos when it (hopefully) blooms again. Looks like it would be gorgeous!
