The FBI basically reprimanded her for careless use of her server, but that she did not intentionally comment an act deserving a felony indictment. 4951

Is anyone REALLY surprised?

Yet another outright lie when she claimed none of them were classified. Looks like 110 of them WERE. 4951

He upgraded Obama's "careless" to "extremely careless" lol! What a joke. One thing the FBI could not determine though was if hostile actors got access to it so that could still manifest which likely will in the coming months like the Russians. Not that hard to get her emails, especially when out of the country. If the Russians have it they will likely play that card in November to really muddy our political system and turn it into a laughing stock or use it to blackmail Obama.   4951

They didn't even address the fact that she should have been using a federal government server for all business emails.  Yes, others have also done the same thing but why have the law/regulation if they aren't going to enforce it?!?I'm not surprised with the decision at all.   The FBI Director wants to keep his job if Hillary wins.  He's gone if Trump wins anyway. 4951

He did not address a lot of things, mainly that she broke laws but they could not find evidence it caused any harm basically. That would be great if everyone could be viewed on the same scale. Hey, I broke laws drinking and driving but nobody got hurt.....sad day indeed.  4951

@Retired_Engineer: I'm not surprised at all.  I have been saying for months this was the likely outcome despite the political pressure.  Typically federal employees (which she was at the time) are not incarcerated for mishandling classified information unless there is intent to pass on to an unauthorized person.  Why so many people thought this situation would be different is beyond me. Now as the head of an agency she should have known better.Having said that with the spotlight this has generated there will be little tolerance in the future for other federal employees to make the same mistakes.  I don't see jail time but they could wind up with a felony on their record and years of probation.

She is not necessarily in good shape with this announcement. She has been a lose-lose situation from the get go. She lied about sending classified information that was not just secret but top secret. The FBI Director said she so.

This will stay with her from now on and she is anything but vindication free. She committed a felony. Period.

It will follow her through the election cycle and hopefully the American people will see her for what she is. And vote accordingly.

Quite the coincidence Obama is scheduled to campaign with her in North Carolina today.

Pray to the good Lord in heaven she is not electable. 4951

I knew when Obama took the day off to fly her around on Air Force One it was going to be a scathing report but likely no charges. His way of giving Comey two middle fingers.  4951

Sad day. I'm tired of those with power thinking we are stupid. Different rules are not ok. Wonder what Petraeus thinks about this? 4951

This does open the FOIA lawsuits wide open and there are over 30 of those. Comey said it himself, they had no formal record keeping in place. 4951

The last hope for some kind of rule of law has just been dashed. If our top cops can be influenced, we are truly doomed. 4951

@Max57: Patreaus is a different type of case.  He admitted he knowingly and willingly passed along classified information to an unauthorized person.  Not the same thing.

The statutes don't require intent, only the act. Huma admitted Hillary put her official schedules in the "burn bag." That is destruction of public records, I believe. State is asking for up to 27 months to provide the FOI documents in some of the cases. Beyond ridiculous! If they had this kind of stuff on a Republican, there would be crowds marching in the streets demanding his head. 4951
