Hillary Clinton and other leaders in her party always talk about how they want to grant new rights to Americans. They talk about the "right to affordable health care," the "right to a college education," the "right to a livable wage." But at the same time, many of these same Democrats have been agitating to restrict or outright repeal existing rights enshrined in the Constitution's Bill of Rights. In just the past few months, in fact, members of the Democratic party  have targeted the 1st, 2nd and 5th Amendments for attack. Here are the details 4951

Thanks for the post FoFa.

@Mrep43:  It usually takes people longer to make the change.... like getting their first paycheck and seeing how much is taken out.  Colleges are notorious as bastions of liberalism.  However, my college was in a small town that was predominately conservative.  A few of the professors were liberal, but most were either conservative or didn't talk about their preferences.

@Retired Engineer

Agreed. I was being facetious.

The colleges/universities are the worst regarding liberal teachings.

When I went to A&M in the early to mid 60's the teaching was neither liberal or conservative. That was before the late 60's when it certainly changed. Some liberal thought then was good but it has evolved into today's wacky mentalitity.

Bernie & Hillary's politics are classic examples.

Those of us who pull the wagon are getting fewer and those sitting in it growing more and more.

The liberals want to make all of us dependent on the government, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

@Retired_Engineer: OMG, RE, I can't believe you buy into the idea of some vast, dark "conspiracy" involving pretty much everyone in the government, the entire Democratic party, the entire college/education industry, both the gun and anti-gun industries, the entire newspaper "4th estate" industry, the entire law enforcement/legal/prison industry, and not to mention every single man, woman, child, and turtle who considers themselves to be "liberal" in thought!!! I mean, there's no way that any single part of a political party or the gov could do anything at all without allllllllll the rest of the party or gov knowing about it, right? No, there's no way at all that anyone involved (not even those with something to gain: money, influence, power, offers of key positions within the administration, etc.), not one single person, could keep something like that a "secret"!!! If there was really an "agenda" to take away our 1st, 2nd, and/or other rights, we'd all know about it and it'd be on the front page of every paper, blog, website, etc. warning us to to be prepared to defend our rights and way of life against the "bad apples", right, just like our Forefathers did a couple hundred years ago or so, when they said something silly about "Redcoats a' coming!" or something like that.Nah, there's noooooooo wayyyyyyyyyyy that could ever, ever, ever, ever, ever happen again, right? So ... what you have you been smoking there buddy?? There's absolutely, positively, 100% surely no "conspiracy" to take away our rights! There's no "conspiracy" to do away with any parts of the Constitution or its Bill or Rights! There's no "conspiracy" to change our government, society, or value systems! There's no "conspiracy" to make kids confused about their born genders/identities! There's no "conspiracy" to steal from taxpayers to bail out corrupt banks, corporations, and other institutions that would turn around and give kickbacks or "reward" the politicians who authored and ensured the bailout would happen. There's no "conspiracy" to lower the American living standard by looking the other way against massive influx of illegal immigrants who will work for cash under the table (even if lower wages), won't pay taxes, will send most of money out of the country, will also receive massive amounts of taxpayer-funded social welfare and other benefits to which they're "entitled", and thereby force the rest of us to fight each other for scraps. There's no "conspiracy" to pit Blacks against Whites so we'd constantly be at each others' throats instead of uniting and focusing on our real, mutual enemies. And there's certainly no "conspiracy" to base a "new" America on the European or 3rd World model in which the gov/corporations/elite all enjoy power, prestige, and 99% of the wealth while the rest of us toil as de facto slaves, with no rights, and no ability to rise up and resist (since they'd have done away with our 2nd Amendment rights). Nahhhhhhhhhhhh, there's just no "conspiracy" at all, man! I sure hope someone breaks out, not only the tinfoil hat, but the entire ensemble for you man ... and quick! Because you sure believe in a lot of nonsense that we've never seen happen, never read about, never end up suffering from, and will not ever, ever, ever see in our lifetimes. No, all that "resisting tyranny" stuff is outdated, old-fashioned, and some fantasy from our "mythological" past. No one wants to be evil anymore and enslave the population (not with steel chains, but with economics, disenfranchisement, political shackles, and inability to fight back). We all know the Founding Fathers who fought in the American Revolution (the first one, mind you), Constitutional Convention, Bill of Rights, unification of the states, etc. is a bunch of "hooey" that just doesn't apply in our modern world of technology, iPhones, Internet, Facebook, and all these social "miracles". We don't need any of that stuff anymore, right, so why would you even imagine that anyone would want to "attack" us to take away our rights??? It just makes no sense, buddy.I mean--why would anyone want to attack the Constitution (or Bill of Rights) anyway? We all know it's sooooooo archaic, from another time, "outdated" and doesn't apply now that we have a bunch of limp-wristed, whiny, weak, pathetic, gender confused, spoiled brat little kids growing up. There's no "conspiracy" to continuously chip away and destroy the mental, physical, and spiritual strength and fortitude of our youth so they'd someday willingly, lovingly kiss the Fascist boots of their masters and be all too eager to sign away all those "old" and outdated rights enshrined in those musty old documents that we don't need anymore, right??? There's no "conspiracy" to slowly, gradually reshape society by brainwashing kids so that each successive generation will be weaker and more malleable than the last. Nah, kids today don't need any "rights" man, unless it's the right to CHOOSE to be controlled, told what to do, think, and believe, all for their own "safety and protection"! Nope. Thank you, but we'll be just fine because the gov has all our best interests at heart and never lies.None of that old "2nd Amendment" stuff fits in with our cool, modern, "fluid" lifestyles and we all just wanna' have FUN, right? No one wants to have to work, fight, or especially not THINK anymore! No one wants to use critical thinking skills to evaluate the merits of ideas, the validity of observations, or anything having anything at all to do with yucky, icky ... guns! OMG, now I'm "traumatized" just from typing that nasty, scary word!! No, we should all trade in our ARs for cute little phones and gadgets, for credits to buy imaginary "jewels" in video games, and for lifetime admission tickets to LGBT bars/clubs.I mean, just look at Australia--they signed over their gun rights, turned in all their firearms, watched them be literally steamrolled, crushed, and melted down, and then did Not have 500% increase in personal assaults, robberies, home invasions, rapes of their wives, daughters, etc. Now that the Aussies are without all those nasty, scary, black, mean-looking, intimidating guns that can stop bad people from doing bad things, just look at how happy they are    : )Back to your "conspiracy", by your logic, there would have to be small "conspiracy" political factions, compartmentalized in an even deeper "conspiracy" to keep things quiet of course, which are actively engaging in quiet "conspiracy" false flag operations to "justify" taking away our rights in some "conspiracy" form of "conspiracy"!!! Are you sure you wanna' go on record with all these "conspiracy" fantasies, RE???I mean, we all know that there are nooooooooo lying, cutthroat, deceptive, evil, agenda-driven people out there in the world (and Especially not in our dear political institutions or government) who'd stoop to creating fake scenarios in an attempt to "justify" and enable their nefarious goals ... right???Nah, man. It's all just a "conspiracy" and you're just the "conspiracy nut" who believes it!!Maybe the problem is--you're thinking is too limited by your conventionalism. I'm pretty sure there were a great many people in the past who likewise didn't believe in "conspiracies" about the British clamping down on us, talks of "war" brewing, revolution, etc. Maybe you're just one of them, with your head still in the past instead of realizing the modern methods used to enact the same old BS.Maybe you should
first remove the "beam" from your eye before you go poking around in
mine; and maybe you should consider that you do NOT have all the facts
in the universe and that perhaps, just perhaps, I'm just a couple of
moves ahead on the board from where you are and that's why you can't
pass "Go" and collect $200 yet. Finally, "Those who live in glass houses" is an axiom you might want to
understand fully before running your mouth off at anyone else, ever
again. Oh, and, "Physician, heal thyself" is another, hypocrite.

@cador: You must be the grandest "tool" of them all if you read all that and didn't pick up on the rhetorical commentary and SARCASM used to make my point. How can you possibly think that I, in any way, shape, or form, support Hildo and her ilk? Are you genuinely so blinded by your desperate desire to criticize me that you can't even read and understand the meaning of the most simple of words?!?I think you must have just skimmed through (not actually "read") and cherry-picked a few phrases without comprehending in context and the right (creative) side of your brain convinced the left (logical) side that your fantasy was true. Read again, try to understand this time, use a dictionary if you must, and see if you can still "deduce" that I'm "liberal" after I've been trying to teach some of you the METHODS used by liberals to deceive the public, brainwash kids, and "justify" lies to further their agendas.BTW, length of post is Not inversely proportionate to validity of post. I take it you've never read any of the papers/letters of our Founding Fathers, have you? Some of those documents stretch on for pages and pages and are still excellent examples of some of the most profound thinking available. Likewise, I bet you weren't one for Shakespeare, Milton, Ovid, etc.? Well, at least your level of literacy is in perfect alignment with your aptitude for making asinine observations.

Dt3001, whoa.. You are talking apples and oranges here.

@sweetie: Nope, more like the difference between raw apples and an apple pie. I'm just a bit further along in understanding the recipe than most are. You're all so quick to dismiss new ideas as "conspiracy" nonsense, because your thinking is small, limited, conventional, black and white, and you aren't able to consider possibilities of cause and effect, root cause analysis, etc. Imagine for a moment, IF you were some kind of fascist political person in an excellent position of power, money, influence, etc. so that you actually Can enable and make your agendas come to fruition ... AND ... you have an agenda against guns and people exercising the 2nd Amendment (because an armed populace can resist your deep-reaching plans) ... how would you, Sweetie, go about brainwashing an increasingly uneducated, illiterate, and NON critical-thinking public into believing that guns/2nd Amendment are "evil" and should be "rewritten" or done away with?Tell me how you'd go about with such a plan. Think not in terms of days or weeks but in months, years, even generations, if necessary to make it happen. What might you try to change people's perceptions, persuade youth to be afraid of guns (and willingly turn them in), to turn kids against parents, etc.??Give us a few ideas and let's run with it as a thought exercise.

Calling me a Hildo supporter is tantamount to me calling you any number of 4-letter words.
