BASTARDS!!!! I hate these things.

I'm 90% done assembling this wagon - just have to put the wheels on with these stupid MFing caps. They are called 'snap caps' in the instructions. What else are they called so I can google how to put these on? Or, do y'all have any tips?

I'ma 'bout to chunk this thing into the backyard and take a baseball bat to it.

Hammer, if you have a socket that fits over it and rests on the lip part, to keep it centered, that works pretty good. 4951

Socket, channel locks, crescent wrench, box end and a hammer...turn wagon on side.

And I've had some that wouldn't fit bc they were the wrong side so a torch & wire welder secured them...my DW just shook her head. 4951

Agree with using a socket. A deep well socket is my choice, easier to hold while hitting with the hammer... 4951

Dang. Trying with the socket... And getting metal shavings from the rod I'm trying to fit it on. Could they be too small? Maybe they put to much powder coating on the rod?

We found a new way to play with it. This is the 'Imagination Wagon,' y'all. It takes you places an operational wagon can't. ...Using one tire as the steering wheel. Gonna try again after little guy's nap time.

A Woody Wagon, how cool!  put a 6" extention on the socket so it stays lined up real well, then use a big hammer and whack it good, whack it real good. 4951

@FloydRTurbo:  I agree!  If it was meant to be screwed on, it would have a hex shape.  Clean the metal shavings away.  I would use a socket that fits over the round center section but smaller than the flat portion, then whack it on!

So, how did the wagon project turn out?  Have pictures of the finished product? Where did you buy it and how do you like it?  Sorry for all the questions. 4951

@FloydRTurbo:

I did it!! 😀

Took it outside and got to whackin'! Using the channellocks with the socket helped - I guess I wasn't hitting hard enough because I was afraid of hitting my fingers. They were still a pain, though. A few times they popped off and went flying, and three of them split. Hopefully they will hold! Emoticon I have an extra one, at least.

I love the wagon! It has quad steering so it has a smaller turning radius. I also wanted real tires so we could go off road easily. 😀

It is a Schwinn Quad Steer Woody Wagon - Amazon.
