He should also cut and paste this with his picture from the ACA: Government Fat Shaming is LegalPenalizing employees for pounds is Emoticonerfectly legal. Under provisions in
the Affordable Care Act, 2014, employers can charge employees an extra 30 percent of the total cost (employer and employee portions) of individual or family health benefits coverage if they don’t meet specific wellness goals, including body mass index (BMI). 4951

After standing in line at Target behind several people that all exceeded 300 lbs (none of it muscle) and then watch them waddle from there directly to the snack bar for some healthy pizza slices and giant pretzels- I'm thinking that penalty is a good idea. 4951

My point is that when a stupid teenager does it they are the most evil person on the planet but  when Obama did it by charging them for being fat nobody cared. Not one word about it.  4951

@beastmode: Got it.  You know this crap is happening way too often, seems like every week there is a new one.  Probably become a way for people to get attention.

Tried to explain this to people at work in a nice way about the ACA. They were overweight and smoked and voted for him to lower their healthcare costs. Like talking to a brick wall. What this kid did was wrong but he's a quasi adult, they do stupid things. Just tell the manager and leave it at that instead of making a national case out of it. The owner will deal with it. No point in shaming the whole place for one stupid kid. 4951

@beastmode: Not taking up for Obama or Obamacare (they both suck) but this uprating for being overweight, smoking, and even high BP has been around in health ins before OC. It's really significant with life insurance-as your rates can double or even triple for the OW and smoking (high BP normally goes along with those two).

I actually have no issue with this. Maybe someone can enlighten me with something I'm overlooking, but this seems to be one of the more reasonable aspects of ACA. 4951

@Spork: May have a point-it is kinda ironic that one of Obama's main points of OC was not to decline cov'g for preexisting conditions or uprate for them-and although carriers have been doing this for years-his plan contradicted itself by allowing these prex's to be uprated (self inflicted or not).

@ET: I've defiantly been waddling lately (much more than with my first pregnancy)...not to the food court though, and mostly because my back and hips are killing me, only 10 more days to go!  Ugh, summer pregnancy is defiantly the pits.
