The Kroger on 59/Northpark in Kingwood is one of 5 Houston area stores that are now offering ClickList to their customers. ClickList is an online ordering system on Kroger's website (Kroger.com) that allows you to shop from the comfort of your home, then grab your groceries on the go without setting foot in the store. The cost will be $4.95, but Kroger is offering the service FREE for the first few times you use it. Also, Kroger will only accept credit or debit cards for ClickList Transactions. Cash, checks, and gift cards cannot be accepted. The other 4 locations are in Tomball, Baytown, Cypress, and Rosenberg. Kroger says it will be adding more stores in the coming months. Will you be using this?? https://www.kroger.com/onlineshopping/signin?redirectUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.kroger.com%2Fstorecatalog%2Fservlet%2FOnlineShoppingStoreSetup 4951

I would be even more excited if the one in back did it. I don't care for chaos of 494/NP area. 4951

The Kroger in the back of Kingwood will have this online grocery ordering and pick up option in the next month or two.  They are now remodeling as we speak for this purpose.  What was the cafe area is now going to be modified to handle all of the grocery pick ups.  They are also adding sky lights in the ceilings over the floral, deli, and produce areas to add more light and give it more of an open feeling.   4951

The net cost is more than just the $5 fee. Kroger's prices (at least the one near 59) are significantly higher than HEB, unless you're buying things on special with the Kroger card. By significant, I mean 30% to 50% on items I buy frequently. I hate the chaos of HEB and go to Randall's if I need to do a quick in and out. I won't spend the $5 for the few things I end up buying at Randall's. 4951

Use to be some grocery stores would deliver.  In NC in our small town, my mom grew up with the local grocery store doing deliveries.

@Fallon: This has made a comeback in the UK in the last 4 or 5 years.  My MIL has all of her groceries delivered and the guy even brings them right into her kitchen with the refrigerator items in their own bag(s) for quick put away.  Of course, the towns over there tend to be much more concentrated and there's almost always a Sainsbury, Morrisons, or Asda within walking distance.  Not sure how well delivery would scale here given the general sprawl of our cities and the way we centralize the shopping areas.

@jaynefromVT: And that's a choice you make.  For some of us it is just the opposite. I save money with Kroger but buying sale items, their branded products, and use gas points.
Thank goodness we have choices.

@Stealth83: Yep. Kroger is awesome if you know how to game the system. HEB is too crowded and the parking is a nightmare.

I hate the chaos of HEB

@jaynefromVT:  HEB starts theirs on June 29th.  They will even take it one step further and deliver to your front door.  There is a coupon floating around online for getting the first three (3) orders free.

@Andreweggplant: That would be awesome! I don't mind grocery shopping in the middle of the day during the week, but if it's an evening or weekend I just can't! Being able to order online and get it delivered would be so much easier.

I've lived here for 10 years and prior to that back in NJ Shop Rite did this.  You placed your order online with a pick up time and just pulled up and they brought out your order.  I had a newborn and was a single parent so I was able to place my order at lunch time and the Shop Rite was behind my work.  I picked it up on the way home then picked my DD up from daycare.  They didn't charge for the service back then.  Not sure if they do now.  I know I have one friend that is always on Facebook saying she has to get her Shop Rite order ready and she lives in Pennsylvania so I think all their stores do it up that way.  They don't deliver though. 4951

I used it. It was great. So many different items that I have a hard time finding in the store found easily online.  They put it all in my trunk. I didn't have to leave the comfort of my AC in this hot Texas heat.  I will definitely be using it from now on.  5 stars. 4951
