Just went into Academy. I was looking at the guns and noticed all of the AR's were gone. I asked the guy working the gun counter if they sold out of AR's. He said no they just pulled them off the shelves so people could not see them out of respect for Orlando. But you could look at and buy one if you asked.

This reminded me of the adult video section in the back of vhs rental places. It's like they are ashamed of selling them but still want your money.

He didn't use an AR-15. So they pulled other brands as well?  How about all the other guns that kill people every single day and knives...this is getting stupid. 4951

@beastmode:

Sorry all he had to do was throw a molotov cocktail behind the bar. Banning everything a killer can or did use is stupid. Hurry cut down the trees, someone might use a branch to make a bow and arrow like we did as kids.
Evil does evil things. How about we just stop being evil. 4951

They don't care. They're just doing what New Yorkers do. (With all due respect to any on here) 4951

They will be going out of business. They were going out of business anyway. Can't compete with online. I always like to check out their fitness equipment made out of like grade DDD steel that is about as thin as a nail file. 4951

@podunk: That is exactly what happened to Dicks Sportings. Bass pro and gander seem to be getting lots of business I have been seeing on the gun forums.

So you all are upset with Academy making a decision to not show the guns?? They still sell them and all you have to do is ask but you have to see them? How many of these you all buy? 4951

@ET: This crap is total PC. I would not like to deal with a company who does not stand up for their customer base.

@CBP210: Oh, I'm sure they are. Eventually though carrying the bag of rocks of maintaining a big box store will catch up with them. Cheaper and better goods online being delivered within hours. happening to Walmart right now. Technology is getting better as well, VR stores.That will be the next big thing.
