She drove him to the locations and went with him to buy the gun. Claims to have tried to convince him not to carry out the attack. What she should have done was alert authorities. Since she did not, once can only assume that she is an accomplice to some degree. I hope they charge her and throw the book at her. You cannot just sit back, knowing of something horrible like that, and do nothing. 4951

he was married AND divorced? I didn't know that. I heard the ex wife said he beat her and was abusive (oh, the shock) and mentally unstable....if that's the case, id bet the farm Mr. Charming treated the new wife the same way. If he was physically abusive then I'm not surprised a woman was intimidated by him and went along with it. That's the way it IS in abusive situations....the fact that the new wife  is confessing now that he's dead, makes me tend to believe she was living under fear, especially in that culture where women are a step above a dog, or a gay guy.She most definitely should have turned that POS in, but culture and fear are among some of the most powerful forces.  4951

The wife should be charged. She's an accessory to 49 counts of murder. No different than the getaway driver in a bank robbery. If someone is killed, driver is also charged with murder. The wife should be charged and sentenced severely. They really need to make an example of her. 4951

@donnatella: being volatile or abusive is not illegal. if it were, we would need a lot bigger jails. she did get a divorce and get the hell away from him. the killer had a 3 year old son by his new wife so there is likely a 4 year time span there...

@ProblemAgain:  Physical abuse is not illegal?  I know volatility is not illegal, but I thought it was against the rules to abuse a spouse.

Of course physical abuse is illegal. It's called domestic violence. 4951

@buffaloglenn: you can tell that to abused women all over the country. in fact in several towns during the recession, police depts instituted a policy of not answering domestic abuse calls due to budgetary constraints. one chief's advice to women was ''don't **** him off." 4951

In my opinion, we are making a mistake not making a distinction between war criminal and criminal. The shooter's entire family should be sent to Guantanamo and have it sorted out. This is a war crime and they are not entitled to the protections of our constitution. (I know, slippery slope, but it's time to get tougher.)
If the home grown jihadists know what will happen to their families, it may be a deterrent. 4951

Yes, She is an accessory to this crime and should be punished to the greatest extent of the law.  It does not matter if he were abusive to her she should not have let this happen.  I personally think she would have stopped it if she thought it was wrong.  She and he must be of the same opinion about waging war on the US. 4951
