No this isn't a joke thread. I have never had a lot of hair on my legs and what I have has gotten kind of patchy since I hit my mid 50's. I mainly have some fine hair around my knees, virtually known on my lower legs, just a bit on my thighs. Lots of men shave their heads if they are balding, I on the other hand have plenty of hair on my head. I also have a beard because I never liked shaving my face as a young man. Some men also shave body hair if they are competing in swimming or races. But the patchy spots just look funny to me. And I usually go a month to 6 weeks between haircuts, my hair doesn't grow back too fast. So I figure I wouldn't have to do it very often. My wife thinks it's fine if I want to, she's in the same boat and says she seems to have less hair at her age and only shaves in the summer when she is more apt to go swimming. I guess I will have to decide how high up to go and where to stop. Decisions, decisions....
@Chrisinkingwood:
Go for a wax. It's fast and makes your legs feel great.
Seriously.
I wax mine once a year. I grow about 6 hairs on my ankles so I pluck them. The rest never grows but I like the way the wax makes my legs feel. It will last a long time depending on how fast it grows.
You won't have nicks or ingrown hairs, no razor stubble.
If you choose a razor way, do not do it in the shower after soaping up. Your skin will swell around the hair and you will have to shave again when your skin shrinks.
Use a cheap body lotion. Slide it on and immediately shave it moving on in sections. No razor burn or stubble.
