It's a good morning to stay inside - fortunately I don't have to be anywhere. 4951

As long as it stays on us or east of us, it shouldn't impact the river much if at all. I am just grateful we were and are spared the $hi*storm that hammered Beaumont to Lake Charles yesterday and now. 4951

@rugburn:  Any updates re: flooding expectations in the Houston area?

After this little sprinkle rolls through Kingwood, there is another blob turning the corner near Victoria. It will likely hit south Houston, maybe hit downtown, and might get Kingwood. Its too early to tell. That is over an hour away. 4951

If you look at a good animated radar map of Texas and surrounding states you can clearly see we are just about at the bullseye for a big low pressure system that is slowly turning counter-clockwise. These are the kinds of weather patterns that just continue to dump rain, especially on the east side of the center point. And nothing will change until a big high pressure system moves in from the west and pushes the low to the east. Then it will be summer and nothing but big high pressure systems and less or no rain! 4951

I never wanted Summer soooooo bad down here. I'm getting sick of all this rain. I feel like I'm in  Jurassic Park with all this rain without the fun of the dinosaurs. 4951
