(1) why there was so many of them when one was sufficient?(2) all posts over a month old are automatically locked and it's been almost 2 months since the first couple of threads were started(3) all you have to do is maybe edit this title, copy and paste the picture and details in a reply below to refresh the info, since "Patches" is already in the title 4951

@donnatella: It never seemed like the owner was that interested in finding the dog, lots of people posting never them.

@ET:  I fully support and all out effort in finding our furry friends, but at last count, before I started putting the threads on ignore, there were 5 separate threads with Patches in the thread, about the same lost puppy.  This one makes 6, or something like that.  Just think, if we all posted 4-5 separate threads about each topic we want to talk about --- the forum would be a colossal mess.

I didn't know there were several posts & I didn't realize they were locked after a month.

Owners work too & it's a full time checking ALL the forums, pounds, rescues, keeping up w/ talking to the community, checking traps, etc.

They are doing the best they can.

I'm just one of many trying to help.

Thank You for explaining. He may look filthy now & be grey & brown instead of white & apricot.

I'm now on my phone & can't manipulate photos, etc. Right now. 4951

@Orchid:  Whenever you get the time or chance, just add it here and ask @TheChad to edit the title for you.  It has been a good while.  Are the owners still looking or did they give up?  Hopefully, someone rescued him, thinking he was homeless and gave him a good home with lots of love, maybe kids to play with and grow up with.

Owner is 90% sure he has seen Patches.  There are a ton of volunteers putting up signs but sadly patrols are taking them down.  He is scared and hiding----employees of the businesses near by have seen him. Communication with the owner is on HKA Lost and found pets Facebook.  He is trying hard to get him.....sad.  4951

Have any of you ever lost a beloved member of your family? As Im sure you have, it is gut wrenching feeling that doesnt go away. Alot of us have no children, and so our fur babies ARE our children. As I am sure that as a parent, you all would stop at nothing to try and get your family member back. Then to have other good hearted folks help out is a blessing. But to be annoyed by "more than one post" when none of us can control what others post on any given website, seems heartless and cold. There are about 30 or so different websites/FB pages out there that one could potentially find a lost pet on and for someone to judge an owner by what is/is not posted one particular site is just downright mean spirited... Unless you KNOW what an owner is/is not doing to find their pet, maybe posting on a public site that "they probably don't care anyway" is not the nicest thing that could have been said. As far as the actual site goes, I just looked at the general posts and there is one or 2 a day on average over the past month. Is there really a danger of 5 posts over the past 2 months totally clogging up this site??? I am Patchy's owner and I have spent countless hours, searching, driving, posting, visiting 4 shelters at least twice a week, putting up flyers, canvassing neighborhoods, talking to residents, trying to trap, rebaiting and rechecking for the past 2 months. So before one judges another, facts finding might be in order. 4951

@txyankee66: This forum is full of animal lovers, most who view their own fury babies as human family members, and would stop at nothing to find them if they were lost. You have everyone's well wishes and hopes that Patches is being cared for well until returned home. No one here would dispute that.

I can see that you just joined this sight a bit before 2:30 A.M. this morning, so it makes sense that you might not understand forum traffic from the perspective of regulars here. When the same handful of posts, all about the same topic, keep getting bumped over and over again, day after day, long-term once the "negative" comments occurred, it keeps other new topics from being at the top, and artificially pushing others down, keeping them down. It's not your doing, but multiple people were posting on your behalf, some with tech issues, posting multiple duplicate posts that had to be removed by Admin.

People speak "negatively" out of frustration over what can appear to be manipulation of the normal flow and traffic. Everyone here is intelligent, saw the pics, read the details and were on the lookout. They didn't need a fire storm of reminders, bumps and multiple copies of the same picture, details, etc. People were not intentionally cruel, they were frustrated. Multiple, rapid fire "reminders" to those already aware did not and will not bring Patches home. The regulars understand your motivation, so please also understand the perspective of those regulars who were frustrated at the situation.

Everyone hopes and prays that you find Patches, and wishes you both the very best, and many more happy years together. 4951

It was my wife (txyankee22) that originally posted about patchy almost 2 months ago. I registered last night because I didn't remember her pw and she had already gone to bed. From what she has told me, to bump a post after 24 hrs is perfectly acceptable on this site. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I understand about multiple threads, and sometimes it happens, but is that a reason to post negative and snide remarks? I have posted countless messages on several websites and FB pages and have had nothing but loving support from all involved. I would hope that in the future that this site which represents a great, family oriented, loving community would lead by example and be the epitome of loving kindness that IS Kingwood. 4951

@sweetie, he was last seen by me and several others in the wooded median between Suddenlink and the fire station on WLHP. We captured a brindle catahoula/heeler mix and he is being fostered, vetted and neutered. But as of this morning, we have not captured Patchy. Thanks for asking.

If you haven't found your dog in two months, after all those efforts, you probably should resign yourself to the fact it is gone. Hopefully it was re-homed to a very nice family. 4951
