Hello all. Family and I are building in Royal Brook, currently living in Fall Creek. We are anticipating having to find short term housing between the sale of our current home and when the new house is ready. Does anyone know of any apartment complexes or even better landlords looking to lease a house on a short term basis?Thanks! 4951

Thank you! We'll look at Kings Harbor. I doubt the rent back will work - we hope to sale to someone with kids starting at the school for the coming school year and they'd want to be settled by then. 4951

Good luck!  We are in the same boat, getting ready to put house on the market in Greentree but our new house won't be ready until around October in Royal Brook, Phase 2. Unfortunately we have cats and dogs so most likely will not qualify for an apartment rental even for a few months.  Very stressful times!!! 4951

We rented for 3 months in town center with no issues. Most rental places around here will do that Emoticon
Good luck and welcome to kingwood! 4951

Good luck, and welcome to KDCEmoticonThis is going to be a hard one to find.  You will be lucky to find a 6 month rental, let alone anything less than that.  Maybe you can get the buyers of your house to rent it back to you for a month or so.  Try the apartments at Kings Harbor.  That may be your best bet.

@Fallon:

There are three or four different apartment complexes there so you might have luck finding something. Also a small condo complex that I know is doing corporate rentals - that may work also. The nice thing about that area is you have the adjoining lake and restaurants and Town Center only a short walk away. Also the Y. 4951

We are in the same situation. We are also building in Royal Brook phase 2. We found town center has a 6 month lease. You can also go month to month with a 30 day notice. We have a town house and it works for now. Emoticon Good luck with everything. We may end up being neighbors! 4951

Awesome, I hope we are! Glad you found some options. I'm hoping for perfect timing but trying to prepare for worst case scenario. I love my animals but it's gonna be tough to keep them all together and move twice. 4951

Ask your realtor. Our realtor found us several 6 month leases in Eagle Springs when we sold our Kingwood home and was building a house in Tavola. 4951

I know the ones over by Kings Harbor used to do a month to month because we had an employee that worked for us and I had to find him an apartment.  He only lived there Sunday night thru Thursday night then went back to Dallas.  It was a very nice apartment and very clean.  That was over 6 years ago.  I also lived in Town Center prior to 2009 and they were nice back then and I believe did month to month.   You will need to check those out because I don't know how they are now. 4951

Thank you all! Is Town Center the name of a single complex? I thought that was just the shopping located at Kingwood Drive and WLH? 4951

@aidan73:

Yes. It's a large apartment complex located behind Town Center. 4951

The address is on Bens Branch in Kingwood and it's called Town Center Apartments.  When I lived there it was nice.  I lived in a one bedroom, one den (10x10) with french doors and a closet.  Laundry in the apartment, garden tub and it was almost 900 square feet and it was 785.  Granted that was back in 2007-2009.  They had 2 pools one being a lap pool.  I think the deposit was like $200.00 and they added on door garbage pickup whether you wanted it or not when we were moving out for $25.00 a month.I lived on an end unit that over looked the golf course on the 2nd floor.  The dumpster was in the corner between the town home type apartments so my DD got to play in that area without cars bothering her because there was only 1 driveway over there.  I can say that my downstairs neighbor said she never heard us but I could hear the guy on the 3rd floor loud and clear.  They never had an issue being on the first floor but at the time I was a single parent and wasn't comfortable on the first floor for some reason.Also, since Town Center always sets off the fire works, the best viewing point was my balcony.  I didn't have to sit with all those people at Town Center and be uncomfortable.  I was able to just hang on my balcony and watch from there. 4951
