My daughter has it and now so do I!!  Ugh, now i know why she has been so cranky.  This virus is awful.  Adults don't usually catch it unless they are immuno compromised, I guess all the moving stress has my immune system weaker right now.   4951

Chug the pepto. I got that mess back in the Fall when my son brought it home to his infant sister and I...while DW was gone on one of her trips. It covered them up in sores, I didn't get many but it was just like a 1 week stomach bug to me. 4951

Not to scare you but usually it's 1000% times worse for adults. I had it several years ago and almost felt like I was dying. Seriously. It was terrible. Could hardly walk because of the blisters on the bottom of my feet. Had to wear gloves to protect my blistered hands. Just horrible. Wouldn't wish it on anyone! 4951

The hardest part is the mouth sores.  It hurts to eat and drink.  So soft foods, like soup, baked tator, and tonight Italinos cannelloni.  Might dive into some BlueBell just because.  4951

My daughter had it when she was in eighth grade. We think she got it from one of the kids at taekwondo. She had a few blisters in her mouth, but the worst for her was the bottoms of her feet. I hope you feel better soon! 4951

Remember, this is a digestive system virus, you may want to eat strategically and dive on off into that blue bell. 4951

@mutton:

It's playfully called the daycare disease bc it's spread through bodily fluids such as saliva. You get a bunch of teething toddlers or slobbering babies in a room and it spreads like wildfire! When I had it, one of my nurse friends asked me why I had been hanging out in daycares. It's uncommon for adults bc I think most get it when they are much younger. It's very common in children. It's viral so no medicine but just anti-itch creams to help with the scratching and maybe some ointment and creams to help with the blistering and bumps. My understanding is if you have never had it as a child, you're susceptible as an adult. But again, very uncommon for adults. I diagnosed myself and my doc didn't even believe me until he saw my hands and feet. 4951

I contracted it from my daughter a few months ago.  Pretty rough, 2 days of temperature over 101, blisters, and achiness.  Treated fever with Tylenol and let blisters run their course.  Worst part for me were the mouth blisters.  Doctor prescribed "Magic Mouthwash".  Used it once and didn't really like the taste or sensation.  Just remember that this too shall pass. 4951
