Ok I had a handyman put in a new dryer lint hose. Then a couple days later I dried some clothes but there was no heat. Well it's like 12 years old so I thought it was just done. So I bought a new one and the new one has no heat either!! Any ideas what is wrong? 4951
@foxymamaDude... My beautiful hubbs just recommended that if the Dryer is getting Power, yet not producing any heat, that the Dryer Duct may be clogged and so to check that....Especially considering this occurred with not only your older / original Dryer, but now also with a brand new unit.... 4951
Sounds like it may not be getting 220 volts to the electric heating element. Have someone who knows what they are doing check the power outlet. You may just have a blown circuit breaker. Good luck, be careful. Electricity and potential fire is nothing to mess with. 4951

We just had all of our ducts and dryer vent cleaned. It was unreal how much lent they got out of the dryer vent, I'm sure it was never cleaned before. Dryer works like a champ now.
Definitely have the vent from the wall behind the dryer to wherever it exits the house cleaned. That stuff can cause a house fire in a heartbeat. We purchased a new dryer whe we moved in and from day one it wouldn't dry clothes. The clogged vent (not vent hose from dryer to wall) was the culprit. 4951
The dryer, if working properly, will generate heat whether the hose is plugged up or not. It will just not dry if plugged. Seems like more wrong than just lint. 4951
Its the dryer breaker. Â It keeps kicking off. Â Just talked to my neighbor who i noticed got a new breaker box a few weeks ago. Â She said she was having the same problem with her dryer. She ended up getting a whole new breaker box and copper pole , etc for $2000. Â Ouch! This is gonna be one expensive life lesson, geez! 4951

@sooner34:Â If your dryer vent is getting lint in it, the filter screen is not working properly. The dryer vent is for heat. More than a handful of lint a year means the screen or seal around it is bad. 4951

Most drier motors run on 110 but the heating element is 220. Sounds like you're not getting both 110 circuits. Please, Call an electrician to check it out before you have a fire.
