I would love to see a Trump/Christie ticket. Might not be a popular ticket, but it would be awesome. The "tell it like it is" ticket. 4951

There are not enough rednecks able to vote that Palin would be of any help. She is toxic. If he chose cruz, it would be the most obvious ploy that it would **** people off.

He needs a woman running mate or a military one to cover his weaknesses. That's his biggest chance and none of those fit the bill. Well Palin has a vagina but thats not gonna happen. 4951

I agree with BooBear. He needs a woman and one that is Hispanic. Susana Matrinez, governor of New Mexico, would fit that need. So would Condi Rice with her experience. Both are talented and would be strong nominees. Stealth is also correct. The states mentioned are extremely important and Ohio is very important. Kasich has stayed in the race as long as he did for one aim only. The V.P.  Winning Ohio is his victory lap in that quest. Whether what he brings will be enough for Trump to issue the invite remains to be seen  If he brings in someone in from left field, like Palin, he will have the McCain dilemma all over again. Cruz, Christi, Rubio, all would not be helpful because they bring nothing to help elect the ticket. Newt G. would have the substance, intelligence, and experience to make a great V.P.  The big knock, and it's big, is his baggage. He would be a target rich environment for democratic attacks. He doesn't need that. It will be interesting to watch who he picks. One thing for sure. Whoever he or she is, it will instantly give him a huge boost in respect or a big drop. He has to get it right.  4951

We saw an Interview the other evening on Fox News with Newt Gingrich, in which reports have been circulating that he was being considered as a VP choice for Donald Trump...  He acknowledged that he had been in touch with Trump's Campaign peeps, and that he knew of several other names being tossed around for VP, none of which are the above stated....Cabinet Positions for many of the former GOP Candidates were mentioned, such as Chris Christie in charge of Transitioning, but Sarah Palin's name never came up... 4951

VP = Martinez (needs Hispanic/woman vote)  or Condi Rice (experienced, respected black female with name recognition), Newt (respected, well rounded knowledge of domestic and international issues, balanced budget and knowable about how DC works); but not Kasich (yes he needs Ohio-- Trump could probably win heads up against Killary--don't see Trump and Kasich chemisty)Trump should also name key members of his cabinet-- such as;AG = Christi (tough, straight talker-- may even turn NJ red)Sec of State = Condi Rice (well respected, experienced,black,woman) if not VPDefense = Allen West (black, ex Fla Congressman, smart and very conservative) or Jim Webb --currently VA Senator (was a Republican and then Dem prez candidate and was Sec of Navy--- hopefully impress Dems to cross over) Health and Human Services = Ben CarsonHomeland Security = Rudy GiulianiTreasury = Rand PaulInterior = Huckabee or Kasich (both have soft compassion side-- throw them a bone) or Martinez if not VPRubio and Cruz have already said NO--(too much bad blood and hey are young and will run again later without Trump association)--Cruz also said NO to Supreme Court (IMO is how Cruz would best serve the US) 4951

@rske476537: If you could find a different leader for that group, you've got me thinking.
Generally good selections.
I agree Cruz and Rubio should stay out of Trump's list. Trump treated them so bad and created too much bad blood to expect repaired relations. I believe if he tried, it would be fatal.

The "tell it like it is" ticket.

@donnatella:

This philosophy can only last for so long. Eventually, he will have to do more than just speak his mind. He needs a running mate with substance. 4951

One word -Newt. He'd bring so much to the table. The only female pick that would help him would be Condi Rice but I do not think she's interested. He's not that stupid to pick Palin-I'd pick her to spend next weekend with (don't know if I could handle her more than that) but not for Trump's VP. Like I've stated before-the VP doesn't do much-but it's all hype and could win/lose an election.Newt would be perfect choice and could actually contribute to his decisions/policies as well as bridging the large gap between party's. Go Newt and it should bring you up a few points. 4951
