So my grand daughter got laid off from her job & her unemployment ran out a week ago , she applied to UBER & was accepted . She loves her job ! In one day she made over $200. She was so happy ! She says she never had a job she likes this well , she drives all over town , meets lots of people & gets to talk all day (LOL) can't beat that . She says she is making more $$ than she did as an accountant working 8 to 5 - 5 days a week . Now she works while her kids are in school & is home when they are . She's a single parent with 5 kids & receiving no child support from her ex-husband . She filed papers against him several weeks ago , but he works under the table & has been hard to track him down .So she was very happy to get the position with UBER & we are all glad it is working out for her. 4951
She deserves complimented for doing what is necessary to support her family (both financially and as a mother). Too bad her scumbag husband doesn't have the same sense of responsibility. 4951
Good for her, may God bless her for being a strong single mom.... please remind her to never get comfortable with her job, and hope she packing some protection. 4951
Great to hear. Not surprised. Unemployment benefits too often hold people back from getting their confidence and dignity back. Heard this story many times. 4951
If she is in Houston I hope it stays here for her sake, but I know in the near future they will be pulling out of here because of the hoops the applicants have to jump through to get permits etc to be able to drive in Houston. 4951
@yankeejessica...you are correct , most of her "rides" take her to the airport which is about 20 minutes from our home , so she has lunch with us everyday . 4951
