Ended up in the ER this morning.
Blood pressure dropped to 72 over 60 and heart rate was jumping from 80 to 155 and back. Heart beat was skipping 2 out of 5 beats, sometimes 5 or 6 in a row.

I'm in Missouri so they are going to keep me two or three days. I really need to get back to take care of my mother...can't stay here long.

@BooBear: Thanks hon, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
I'll stay here for my 72 hours though or Medicare won't pay the bill. They have their way of making you sit tight.

My mom had that problem before and the doctor put her on something called Betapace. Here's some info on it:Betapace (sotalol hydrochloride) is an antiarrhythmic drug with Class II (beta-adrenoreceptor
blocking) and Class III (cardiac action potential duration prolongation) properties. 4951

@Safety44:

Do you still have pneumonia? With numbers like that i would be looking for a severe infection or some serious heart issues. How do you feel and what are they saying? 4951

Relax and know you cannot help your mom at all like this.So sit back and know you have to rest.  If your wife is here, she can go by and check on your momEmoticon  You think positive, and rest.  And you have to drive back.  You don't need to be driving in those conditions either.  So again, rest, and know you have to be in better shape so you can help everyone else.

@Fallon: Thanks friend. I've talked to mom's nurse and she will go check on her tomorrow, then call me.
This is the second time this has happened since March.
I guess I'm getting closer to the defibrillator. I'm doing better now that they have loaded me up with meds and I've got a skinny young nurse who is hyper as he!! That is dying to be the one who gets to " shock me back to normal".
If anybody here is to talk me into that, it will be her!
Go ahead baby, shock the old man (may be fun).
8-)

@Nurse3: Glad to hear you on line girl! They took a X-ray but haven't gotten the results back to me yet.
I was feeling okay from the pneumonia bit. I stopped using the nebulizer about two weeks ago. Every was good.
But last night, I couldn't breath when I laid down (same as in March when I had the pneumonia).
It is basically an exact repeat of March.
Couldn't breath laying down.
Blood pressure dropped to within 12 points between over and under. (70 over 58)
Heart rate cycled rapidly between 80 and 150.
I'm stable now (somewhat) with BP back to 98 over 75 and heart rate cycling between 85 and 100.
I've really got to figure this out though, because I only have 23 heart efficiency left and I don't want to hurt the turkey!
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again, you're a gem.

@Safety44:
Glad you are feeling better. A defibrillator would not be a bad idea with an ejection fraction that low. Please be careful and report any changes like swelling in your legs or shortness of breath.

Your nurse sounds like a gem and a keeper if a little overzealous. Lol. Do EXACTLY like they say and do not think "Well i can do this or this is just a minor thing."
Keep to your fall precautions!!!!!

@safety44 - I hope you start feeling better.  I'm not a nurse but is there anything here I can do for your mom while you are there?  Please let me know if I can help in anyway. 4951

@Safety44: I'm just sayin, there is a reason airlines tell the mom/dad to take the oxygen first.

I know all about when something NEEDS to be done and just powering through. This is not just a cold. You will be no good to her falling over from another heart attack.
Take the time to heal, for meds to regulate. I promise your mom would not be happy with you sacrificing yourself for her.
