Don't even bother going over there - apparently there is only one worker, there, too. It's a mess. 4951

That post office is a joke. The workers are slow and lazy.

Print your label online. It will save you time and you won't have to mess with those goofs at the post office. 4951

I print my postage online and buy stamps at the grocery store. I rarely go to the actual PO. But it is better than the surly service at the one in Humble.On the other hand, my mail carrier is AWESOME!  4951

@Jeff1928: Yes and no. I always print labels and drop it off in the box. Unfortunately half the time the box is messed up because I guess they don't empty it or something, and it gets jammed. Then you either wait in line to drop it off at the desk, or go around and drop it off on the side of the desk. Either way they end up being rude and acting as though you are inconveniencing them. I hate going in there, even to drop off a prepaid package.

@FairieMae: Where do you ship your packages? Do you go somewhere else once you buy the label online?

@Nope:

I drop off my prepaid packages at the Postal Annex. It is next to Subway in the Golds Gym parking lot on Northpark.

Just go in and drop off the package at the small counter next to the PO boxes.

Once you do this you will never go back to the Kingwood post office again. 😄 4951

My first post!I'd love to print from home. But I've got one in Hawaii and one at school in Missouri, and the online site doesn't recognize their addresses. (Although the self serve kiosks do.)They alo seem to always be out of flat rate box supplies. And it is no longer cheaper to order and print from home. Where's the upside?Jill 4951

Well it may be inconvenient for some but I log in on my computer and print my labels which saves me a few cents and then drop them off. If the bin that you drop them in is full or not working they usually have a bin just inside the main area but after hours I guess that is not possible to access. The truth is that the USPS finances are strictly controlled by Congress. If you are unhappy tell  Congressman Poe to get off his butt and stop renaming post offices and help fund the post office. He is a complete jerk in my mind and I remember him well when I served on 2 juries in his courtroom. Talk about elected official arrogance! 4951

Our mail carrier is horrible; places the wrong mail in the box and late deliveries.  The KW post office must be run by idiots OR they are union workers and don't have to worry about their jobs.  4951

For those of you who print labels at home - do you have a scale then? 4951

Yes, I have a scale, and unless the box package is huge, I let my carrier pick them up. When I do drop off, I drop at the Feather Lakes PO. I live pretty close, closer than the Postal Annex.I do not trust the scale on the kiosk - it weighs VERY heavy. Maybe tat's why they are repairing it.A word about Flat Rate boxes - you can order a pack online for free, or if you need just a couple, I might have some spare you can have. Regional boxes may save you more, depending on how heavy they are, but postage can only be purchased online for those.  I have a few of those boxes as well. 4951

KW Post office is one of my LEAST favorite errands. I don't do it often. But when I do, it's a challenge. The powers that be understaff the place. I never give the folks behind the counter a hard time. I can't imagine what it's like to see all those angry frustrated faces glaring at you all day. 4951
