Easy. Get a life, get a hobby, volunteer, invest your money, work on your home, pay bills, do the laundry, vacuum, dust, wash windows inside and out, clean out and reorganize your closets, make appointments with contractors/service people that never show up, raise hell with them, put together a detailed budget for the household and stick to it, look for ways to reduce expense, pay off any debts, eliminate $$ waste, enjoy friends be useful... just to name a few things. 4951

You could do all of the above or just watch 5 straight seasons of a series you didn't watch before.

I did that with Game of Thrones.. there is 50 hours gone! 4951

If you have kids, maybe you should go check out what they do at school.  You could use this time to get to know them better.   4951

I'm self employed which is actually unemployed until a job comes a long. But I have a ton of projects going all the time so I usually go to bed at night wondering where the day went.Good luck if you are seeking another job, the options available have improved greatly from a few years ago. 4951

>> How the hell do stay at home moms/dads do it??

I need to get a job

@mm4731: I would be like you.  I don't understand that mindset when all the "tasks" that are listed really only take a relatively few minutes and don't need to be completed daily. But hey, different strokes and if ya don't gotta work and have bills paid, why do it.

@Stealth83: Agree there, I already have a routine for getting all of those things done already.  I would spend time doing more active things and increasing my volunteering time.   4951

@ForeCPA90: otherwise what happens is you expand the time you spend on things to fill the time available...

@ForeCPA90: Me too.  I have a lot of projects on the 'Pit (money pit) to take care of, so I figure that would take a few months, either doing it myself or with contractors.  Once that's done, I would swing to more volunteer work.  One idea I have is an after school running program for kids that want / need to become more active.
