Bear Branch pool
@rske476537:   Jeff Ellis Swim is the company who does swim lessons at BBV pool.  In fact, they do swim lessons at all the pools they lifeguard at.   Their swim instructors are very good, well trained, and are all lifeguards.   Swim lessons are $50.00 for 8 group lessons.  No more than 6 kids per group.

I always felt my kids did well with group lessons because they always wanted to do it as good as the other kids.  Also, Elis Swim offers a great mommy and me class for kids who are not ready to be away from mommy.  In their mommy and me class the mom gets to learn how to teach her child to swim.  I did that with one of mine and they did great.   4951

Private lessons are expensive.  They range from $25 - $35 for 30 minutes.   4951

WHAT?!?!?!?  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  They JUST opened and I LOVE them!  The next closest one is in like Pasadena or Spring.  How can they be going out of business with all the money I spend there?! 4951

Thanks to everyone who mentioned/recommended me.  I do love teaching those kiddos!  I am only doing limited lessons this year because I am expecting baby #2 in late June/early July and don't know how long I'll be able to waddle up to the pools or how long I'll be out of commission!  lol.  But private and group lessons each have their benefit.  I am a big believer that you get what you pay for.  So yes, private lessons are more expensive, but when you do the math, it can really be beneficial for a child.  That being said, so can group lessons.  It really depends on the child and the parents.  If a parent is willing to watch the lessons and practice the skills with the child, it goes a long way.  Much like general school vs a private tutor.  Some kids thrive in environments that others no not.  Such is life. 4951

@yankeejessica:

I have taught adults before. Easier when they aren't deathly afraid of the water. It's a great skill to have and fantastic exercise. Waiting for the pools to open so I waddle myself down there for some laps! 4951
