I am at my wits end. All the greenies say we should do better...ride bike's and carpool in electric cars.

Guess what. One of the most caustic processes on the planet is pulp and paper processing. It uses tons of water, depletes trees and lastly leaves millions of gallons of environmentally toxic slurry behind (google international paper and the highlands if you don't agree).

I just pitched about five lbs of ads out of my mailbox and that was a three day example. We can't opt out....bc the ad sector is the major funding source of our post office in present day

Ugh. I hate this crap.

I rarely get anything important in the mail anymore, but it does happen so we have to sift through the junk just in case.  We also continuously get mail from a neighbor on our street.  Their address is one digit different from theirs.  Debbie knows her so it's not a big deal, but it keeps happening. 4951

Working hard to bring the unwanted to the masses.  When you think about it we all pay for cable to mostly watch advertising (especially if you watch football).  That is slightly more green, though. 4951

dont blame the post office because they deliver the mailers. the decision to send mailers and junk mail is entirely in the hands of the companies whose junk mail and flyers you receive. the post office has no discretion in delivering mail that is addressed to you.  4951

If I get any junk mail that comes with a return postage-paid envelope.  I write on the junk "Don't send me this crap!" with a bright red Sharpie and mail it back to them.  4951

@TXtransplant: Them there's the paper man/woman who speeds through the neighborhoods running stop signs and driving on the wrong side as they throw news papers in the rain water.
That's also good use of our natural resource. (but at least those are delivered. I actually get two at my house because I'm on a corner and the driver is triggered by the site of a building.)

@Safety44:
I guess that would be the Observor and/or the Tribune (I think that is what is it called). This is such a waste and immediate trash at my house. 4951

@ProblemAgain: What I don't understand is how I seem to always get the mailers and advertisements. But often don't receive the important stuff!

@ProblemAgain:

The post office offers mailer companies drastically reduced rates to keep using their services (or funding their ineptness) 4951

I put the junk mail back into the system. I place junk in the "no postage necessary" envelopes. Okay, not really!  4951
