I am disgusted by the email I just got from the middle school! Apparently yesterday there was an incident where a man exposed himself to a poor 6th grade Creekwood Middle school girl on her way home yesterday. What is wrong with people!? It turns my stomach to even think this could happen to my girls! I always feel bad because I don't let my girls go ride their bikes much without me since I am afraid of what could happen. Reading something like this doesn't ease my mind much! At this rate, they won't be leaving the house anytime soon without me following behind. Ugh! 4951

That's scary for that poor girl! When my daughter was in 7th grade athletics at KMS they went out to the track to run laps one day and there was some guy just off the track(outside of the gate) sitting there pleasuring himself. Those poor girls started running in a panic as soon as they realized what was going on. It was around the time of one of those school shootings and my daughter thought there was a shooter on the track. She was terrified! Those coaches took off after him like a couple of angry mama bears, but he got away.  4951

We were happy to see Mr. Winiki out patrolling the area as the students walked home. He was in front of the church on lake Houston. Hopefully the quick actions of the student, the principal/school staff, and the community will deter the man in the truck to return. 4951

He is a predator and he needs to be found and stopped.  They only escalate.

@Fallon: we not only need to get him off the street immediately, we need to make sure they keep him off the street (for a long time... Forever)

Edit: I worked with a man who's daughter was raped. They caught the guy and locked him up. Every time the parole board would have a hearing for the guy's release, my friend would go and ask them to please let him out so he could make him really pay for what he had done to his daughter.
They kept him in jail until my old friend died. I'm not sure if they released him even then. 4951

@FeelinMinnesota:

There's quite a few people around here that just aren't right in the head. Scenarios like that and the one posted above about girls running at the track are just sick. My DW gets on her soapbox about those type scenarios every time we see the herd of jr high girls (guessing age) out running in the mornings with some not wearing a whole lot.

@podunk: As my daughter got older it was really hard to let her go run the trails alone. She had to be dressed appropriately(wearing only a sports bra and spandex is NOT acceptable attire in my house) and carry pepper spray and I confiscated her ear phones so she couldn't listen to music. Luckily she swims now so and has no desire to run. My youngest has just started wanting to ride her bike with friends on the trails so again, she has to be dressed appropriately and carry pepper spray, just in case she runs across someone like this.

I know ya'll know this already, but what they are wearing isn't the issue.  The sick pos who is preying on women is the issue.Now the headphones, are not safe, because you need to be aware of your surroundings.Just had to add this.  How someone is dressed or not even dressed does not make another person want to rape them.   Rape isn't about that.  I imagine the person lives close by the area, and he put some thought in going there to chose his victim.  And the poor kid he exposed himself to is a victim.  I hope his next victim is armed.

@Fallon:
I like to wear spandex and a sports bra when I run just to scare them off! JK I would scare the neighbors too so I stay well covered for the protection of everyone around! 4951
