Leave work and go get your car. The river is about to overflow and flood the whole thing. At least that's what it looks like. Sorters is already part of the river! 4951

with the construction near there it is even lower.

@Stealth83: Forgot about all that construction.  There is no way to know how the river will flow now.

I went to costco today and this is what i saw. We decided not to go to UofH due to the water and more rain.

I think the Costco and whatever else they are starting to build is not helping with the flooding around there. The area where costco is now was low lying and able to fill up when the river would rise. Now the water has no where to go and the little bit of water diversion they put in is not helping as it should. Of course it doesn't help that this crest (whatever it ends up at) will go down in the top 10 (stands at 7 now) historic crest and the river has only been higher 3 times in recent history. 4951

Has the park and ride ever flooded?

@TEXASGIRLMAMMA:
Yes, in the flood around 95 - 96... The water was 3" feet deep inside of Toys R Us and that whole area including 59 was under water. There are signs all over that lot stating it is in a 100 year flood plain. This is said to be a 500 year flood event. 4951

@Andreweggplant: It was 1994 and 59 was several feet lower at that time (bridge over the mighty San Jac).  If Toys R US had three feet of water it would still be below 59 as it is currently structured.  Park and Ride lot is a different story though.

@Maisey1: Yep - dumbest thing ever building the Costco where it is and like they did.  I guarantee that will contribute to more flooding.  Also, they are building NEIGHBORHOODS behind the Costco, in areas that were consistently swamps / river overflow!  Just think about the poor schmucks that end up buying homes back there.

@buffaloglenn:

Sure, why not! I only have 2, both are views of 59 looking south. One from the Sorters McClellan bridge, one from the Feeder to the bridge. We parked the car and walked around 59. It was unreal!
