try Allrecipies.com  they have TONS of great stuff.  Or if it's an ethnic thing, search Google for ethnic cooking sites with blogs or message boards.  I have done that for a few things in the past and had good success 4951

When I was young, my dad cooked tripe, sweetbreads, liver, and other strange things.  He grew up very poor, without a father (he had committed suicide), and his mother had to make use of non-typical animal organs/pieces.  Fortunately, there were butchers on my grandfathers side that usually kept her provided with something. My dad was the youngest of the family and he helped his mother cook.  My grandmother got $35/month from the parish indigent fund.  She primarily bought rice and white beans.  They prefered red beans but they were a penny/pound more than white beans.I enjoyed some of these organs more than others. 4951

@Retired_Engineer:

Man sweetbreads are awesome. Never was a liver fan, except chicken, rabbit and deer.
Than I discovered tripas Mexican tacos here in Texas, can't get weigh of those either. And beef tendon at Vietnamese.

We (I) only fix 5 meats here..period..boneless skinless chicken breasts, hamburger, steak/roast(no bone) venison and while I won't cook fish in the house I will outside rarely. I don't fry anything in the house except for once a year for Michaels birthday he wants fried deer steaks. I can smell that meal for a couple of weeks after I cook it. His grandmother would eat anything that may have at one time walked/slithered. I stopped eating at her house whenshe had squirrel ribs on the table for breakfast and she didn't refrigerate leftovers, she put them in the "food pantry". I realize people can live quite well on this stuff but I'm not sure I would save my self from starving eating the stuff you talk about. I'd probably just ask michael to shoot me. More power to you for having an adventurous palate but it makes me throw up in my mouth a little. Emoticon 4951
