We have Dish, and I'm so confused about all this other stuff. I'll be the first to admit that we are paying way too much for the channels we actually watch. We're paying for 250, but we only actually watch maybe 25... So for local channels you need the antenna??? But what if I want to watch what's on ID... Would that be available on this Roku thing or would it just be old shows that had already aired???
@klp1972:
Like yourself, we only watch maybe 10 channels on HD with cable on a daily basis that includes local channels for news. My hubby watches FXX for UFC and ESPN, plus AMC (for THE WALKING DEAD), TRAVEL CHANNEL, HGTV, CNN and other news network. We were paying too much for those 10 channels plus the irrelevant channels so we decided it was time! We cut the cord after the season finale of the walking dead of course. You can always get an HD antenna for the local channels or in our case, subscribe to Sling TV with Roku for our AMC fix. Check out the link below if you want an in-depth information on the channels. Some offer free streaming and some require additional fees or a cable subscription, but you can always tailor or customize the channels for the tv shows you REALLY watch plus movies. I'm currently on subscription for Netflix and Hulu (gotta love HULU for international content). I can always subscribe to SLING TV for live and on-demand contents (especially right around a fresh season of The Walking Dead)
