Wondering if there any restrictions in the neighborhoods about advertising some fliers.Also what is the general outcome if you get fliers? Do you actually read them or trash them? 4951

yea i see what you're doing here....putting fliers on my door ticks me off......I will purposely ignore your service...I'll bet there is some kind of HOA rule against it, but don't how it's regulated?you do yourself more harm than good with the old door trash..... 4951

I toss everything that is stuck in/on my door. Don't bother looking at it. 4951

Any I get go immediately in the trash.  I may glance at them, but I've never done any business with a company because of a flyer. 4951

I toss them without giving them a 2nd glance.   If someone puts a flyer under my windshield in a parking lot I do look at it because it makes me so mad that I want to make sure that I never do business with someone that would advertise so rudely. Same thing with bandit signs and phone door and solicitations. Advertise by buying an ad, sponsoring causes that get your name out there, leave business cards on specially created bulletin boards that other businesses display for that purpose, etc. But do not litter my property or invade my private space to advertise your product if you want me for a customer.  btw- Word of mouth to me is the most valuable advertising.  I also read Yelp reviews. 4951

Trash them without a lookThe fliers usually don't make it to the actual front door at my house. They are usually scattered at the step and the walk. My dogs lie in wait- the person might actually make it to the front door- then they might see the crack in the stain glass  at just below eye level at wonder to themselves "hmmm wonder what caused that?" ( ole man TJ went through the glass and almost got someone- we replaced it but asked that the one small slight cracked pane remain there). At the same time they hear/see three angry barking dogs rushing the door.  After that they abandon the idea and throw the flier to the ground while beating a hasty retreat."That'll do Dogs, that'll do" 4951

I look at them to see who not to do business with.  To me, flyers on doors and windshield and the business cards in the baggy with some pebbles thrown in the driveway are the same as littering. 4951

I have a fantasy that I will one day gather all the flyers on all the doors in my neighborhood. I will put them in a big bag. Then, I will go to the business, walk inside, and dump them on the floor.I don't leave note on my door as a signal to crooks that no one is home. Why the heck does someone who doesn't own my home get to do that? 4951

If it aint from the post office saying I have goodies it is trashed. I do glance at them on the way to the trash to make sure its not an important notice of some sort. 4951

If i can figure out the address, I like to mail the flyers back to the litterer with no postage. That way, the offender has to go to the post office to pay for insufficient postage letter only to find they just paid for their own solicitation.

No return address, of course. 4951

@AuthorMan:

But I do open the Tribune. It gets taken out of the bag and goes on the garage floor to catch the pesky oil drip from my car. 4951
