I'm fuming. I've waited for almost a week for my pharmacy to be able to fill a script for me that my Dr called in. They were having issues with my insurance. I asked them how much would it be I'd I just bought it flat out, and it was just under $300, so I decided to wait. 😨 So finally, today I get the text to come get my prescription...and it's THREE PILLS. Do THAT math. Now, it's specialized meds, but still!! Holy moly! 4951

@starryskies67: I'm doing the same thing as we speak. My prescription was submitted last Wednesday. The doctor assured me it was covered because I told them I had to pay for it the week before ($100).
I still haven't been able to get it due to the pharmacy telling me they are waiting on approval.
This is follow up treatment on pneumonia and I don't think it is that serious. However, like everything else, I'm losing patience.
Who do I sue if I die while waiting for these ******s to start being accountable?

It is truly messed up. I don't understand how they can get away with it either. Without insurance a very small can of topical steroid foam, would've cost me over $800! 4951

@Nope: So, if you think about that, how much can your insurance company be paying for these prescriptions that are filled?
I can't imaging them paying thousands of dollars a month out on a policy that costs a few hundred a month.
And take into consideration the abuse on Medicare and Medicaid in similar cases...
It just doesn't add up.

@Safety44

I'm asking the same thing! Nobody's in a hurry. I got my script last Wednesday, as well, and just got it today. This is AFTER I had left about 5 messages with my doc. Unbelievable.

I feel ya. My son takes 3 different seizure meds and the insurance dropped his main one recently. It's only $1800/month. *sigh* Had it not been for Tx Childrens stepping in, he'd be screwed. 4951

I am, it's not a great plan. I spend $200 a month, just for myself. All the cheaper plans would require me to go all the way downtown to see a doctor, no thanks. I paid extra to have a local doctor. 4951

@RogueHippEE: I don't understand why something that you need is not covered by insurance. I honestly feel situations like that, make insurance pointless. Yet you have to get insurance or pay a fine.

Go to any of the big pharmaceutical companies and look at how much they spend each year on R&D.  And many of those never clear trials...  It isn't cheap to employ medical doctors folks.  Don't forget, the big pharmas are public companies whose job it is to make money, like any other business.  4951

I was afraid of that. The Obama care plans are horrible and will get worse.

There are a few big names saying they are pulling out altogether in 2017.
If that happens bend over and pass the Vaseline. 4951
