So my "wonderful neighbor" decided he wants to be a bee keeper. While I applaud his efforts to promote honey bees, I really don't think our suburban 50x100 foot lots are the proper place for them. Anyone think this is considered a livestock animal? Which by code, is not allowed out here. I should probably just ask the neighborhood CCR folks. ‪#‎kingwood‬‪#‎suburbanlife‬Any thoughts?? 4951

Not livestock. If they aren't bothering you and you know how beneficial they are, what's the problem? Busybody. 4951

I know a few folks that keep bees in Kingwood - it seems to be allowed. Plus that a stretch trying to categorize them as livestock. I truly don't understand why you  would be afraid. Why don't you research honey-bees, maybe it will put your mind at ease. 4951

my "wonderful neighbor"

@patriotsriot: Your neighbor is wonderful - honey bees are great, and as long as you leave them be, should not pose any kind of problem. They aren't loud, they aren't smelly, and if you are a good neighbor, you might be rewarded with some yummy honey.

I appreciate the feedback. If only this next door neighbor didn't already have a history of peeing on my fence, letting his dogs run loose sans leashes- yet yells and picks fights with folks doing the same on our bayou and calling the police on folks who park on the street too close to his house, or flipping my children off and shouting "F^%$#@G YANKEE!" at me I would be fine with it. 4951

I see, well that puts a different spin on things. Not so wonderful after all. Security cam to catch him "in the act" on the fence thing should give you the evidence you need to get a little intervention. 4951

Made some scrambled eggs for my STAAR test taking kid this morning and was surprised how pale the yellow was in my Kroger eggs. My kid thought I made him something with egg whites. The scrambled looked as yellow as swiss cheese. The farmers market is a great idea. 4951

The mention of peeing on the fence reminded me of a time years ago when me and my buddy were out drinking.
We were in the parking lot behind the bar when he decided he had to pee.
He went over and peed on a brick wall. The owner had put a hotshot electric cable on the wall.
I darn near peed my pants laughing.
Not saying you should do that, but I guarantee results will be hillareous and ever lasting.
Did you ever hear the phrase, "Choke your chicken?" 4951

When I was a kid we had honey bees on a smaller lot than that.  It is wonderful your neighbor has decided to help the environment in your neighborhood.  Honey bees and all kinds of bugs are already flying all over the place anyway.  It is wonderful your plants will be properly pollinated this year.  Do you know how beneficial honey is to your body?  I have one teaspoon of local raw honey a day and no longer have allergies.  You should leave the beekeeper alone and let him do what is best for the community.   4951

Unfortunately there are laws preventing this. The fence is on the side of my house, and if I was to include his property with any view other than "from the street" I would be infringing upon his civil rights. 4951

@patriotsriot: Dang if all that is true the honey bees are the least of your problems.

How about a sprinkler with a sensor - he wets the fence - sensor triggers sprinkler to get him wet all over. 4951
