Los Palomas. Gross. Wishing we had just hit up Chachis. Margaritas, pretty good. Food, yuck (we had beef fajitas and fixings). Totally gross. 4951

Service was great, but with food cooked without salt or other seasoning, yucky! 4951

There are a lot of pretty good TexMex places in the area.
I'm not an expert by any means but I do like the food and appreciate there being a lot of good choices. 4951

Short of making the haul over to Pappasittos and enduring that traffic mess, I find Chachis to be the best choice in the center area. Usually crowded so if I want a quick meal Fiesta Azteca gets the nod. Pretty standard fare but consistent and happy hour runs 2-7 daily. 4951

@14valentine:

That place is NASTY! I went a long time ago and will never go back. Food and service was horrible. Waiter never came to check on us. At the end I told both waiter and counter person I did not care for my food. ( nor did I eat it. I left a full plate on the table) they didn't care. Just shrugged. 4951

@princecharming: Say Ritas and carnitas and I'm yours! Well, for dinner, that is. 4951

I went to Chachi's once...ONCE! Food is not good, not good at all, unless you've had a few too many drinks. Then it's great.

Their drinks are good, though, so they have that going for them...which is nice.

Monterrey's Tex-Mex in Humble
Casa Ole (A chain, but can't get enough Queso or green sauce)!
Chuy's
Pappasitos is great, but expensive!

Ninfa's was so good, but I have only eaten at one location other than the old Kingwood one. 4951

Anybody know what happened with El Charro? Did it change hands and if so is it any better? Be nice to have another option in the center. 4951
