a certain you-know-what, what is your favorite country cookin' dish? It doesn't have to be on the you-know-where's menu, it can be Mom and/or Grandma's world famous dish that you just can't get enough of, ever.

I'm a big fan of chicken fried steak or chicken with homemade country gravy. Serve that up with some mashed potatoes that has just a bit of the peel and garlic mixed in and slightly chunky and topped with more of the gravy. Then you need some fresh green beans (cooked with bacon, of course) and/or corn, and fried okra for the veggies, and a fresh out the oven, melt in your mouth roll. 4951

Mom, God rest her soul, was a self taught chef, she made everything from pastries to hog's head cheese. My favorite was always her bread. 4951

My Mom was raised by her grandmother who owned a boarding house. She has fabulous recipes, all from scratch. Smothered just about everything! Lots of salt and seasonings! 4951

My MIL always made the best chicken and dumplings.
I sure wish she would have taught her daughter to cook. 4951

@donnatella: What the heck does that even mean?
I'm not following that bit for some reason.Does the dish have to be an American country dish?Doesn't matter, I could not limit to one fave in the least.I love chicken fried steak.Fried Chicken.A good meatloaf.Shoot, I even love good sausage and fried eggs with good pancakes. But there are some Asian, Indian and Mexican country dishes I love as much.Like Korean SSAM (pulled pork) or Jab Chae (noodles).Indian Biryani Spanish PaellaMexican roasted cornThe list goes on. 4951

@FoFa: I meant the contest for Cracker Barrel. I didn't want to disqualify anyone's response.
