Had a red fox once. He was a house pet but used to like to ride in the back window of my 1959 ford galaxi. It had a big window and a place for him to sit.

He was quite the fancy with my girl friends.

Beautiful and friendly but a little too active for a pet. 4951

Unlike a lot of people here, I'm a cat person.  I can't say I've ever had a favorite because they have all been very special, with their own unique personalities.  I will say that my two twin brother and sister Siamese rescues will always be amongst my favorites.  They are like night and day...he is very cuddly and friendly, she is *****y and aloof.  They fight and play constantly and do everything together.  I call them my book ends because they will sit, pose, lay or whatever, just like mirror images. 4951

Right now I have a chocolate chip starfish- and my marine tank in general is cool.About 5 years ago we had a bad freeze and I found an anole with his little nose and part of his head frozen to the patio. I used some luke warm water to unfreeze his head. He was too weak to move much ( and too cold) so I put him in an old aquarium with a heating pad- fee him mealy worm and he perked right up. I kept him until the threat of freeze and then released him. I kept putting mealy worms out and he got fairly tame. He still comes back every year and  he will take mealy worms from our hands. He's got a brown patch on his head from the freez. He came out looking for worms last night- he is BIG. 4951

I don't guess you would call them pets.. But I hand fed  and raised 3 squirrels after Hurrican Rita.. 3 of them for about a year.  They too would come back to my front door every so often.I named them  Hurr   Kane and RitaIt was a fun and costly venture.. I thought my husband was going to leave me over it!!!  lol 4951

A pet owl would be cool too. I used to think my hamsters were the coolest (when I was little)...they were so cute rolling around the living room in their plastic ball and their mouths full of food, and they had a huge cage with many different colored connecting tubes. ..and I loved the smell of cedar in their cage lol (im weird). 4951

I've had all kinds of animals wild, domestic and exotic. We had a wildlife rescue so deer, raccoon, opossum, squirrels, beaver and hawks.
On the exotic side there was a ferret (thief he was my little bandit), ball python I used to dance with, a blue amoeba lizard, iguana, eel, red bellied pacu, and quaker parrot.
We've had wolves, kangaroos, cougar, lemur and a long line of other beast.
Right now I have a big ole dog, the quaker parrot and a California king snake.

We had a squirrel monkey.  He was cool but very mean.  My parents traded him for a parrot.  I trained the parrot to sit on my shoulder.  I went off to college before I could get him to talk. When Debbie and I got married, we had a parakeet.  We would let it out of its cage and it would fly around and land on us.  If I was reading the newspaper, it would get on my arm or leg and chew the corners/edges off of the paper.  He loved to land on Debbie's shoulder and bite (nibble) on her ear.  She would run from him and he would chase/fly after her.We have had some great dogs and have three right now. 4951

Over the years we have had many dogs, cats, show rabbits, chickens, horse, iguana, hamster, guinea pigs, tarantula, hedgehog and fish.  The easiest is the tarantula by far, my favorite is my dogs.  We still have dogs, an outside cat (I think he likes the neighbor dude better than us) fish and tarantula.  I have had a wiener dog for 8 years, schnauzer for 15 (both gone to doggy heaven). A few others in between that didn't stay for as long. Presently a bishon (sp) mix and boston terrier.  All of my dogs have been strays or rescues, I cannot see paying hard earned money for a pet, just not how I was raised, normally strays found us out in the country and adopt us, joys of living in rural areas. 4951

DW had a raccoon that was pretty useless. We raised a baby squirrel for a few months until the Basset hound decided to "play" with it. 4951

I would have to say the rooster and raccoon that I had at the same time.  Raccoon was litter trained for inside and used to stay in the house when he wanted to.  Rooster, named Peep, stayed outside and would roost in an oak tree in my family's courtyard.  The rooster and raccoon would sleep together.  Cutest thing ever. 4951
