Please forgive me, as I know it sounds a little silly to talk about ice cream, but this is more about protecting your money - even just a couple dollars (because it adds up - that's lunch at school for a child)
Everyone should know that the Marble Slab next to Randall's on West Lake Houston and Kingwood dr is intentionally overcharging customers.
The sign in the window very clearly states that plain waffle cones and unlimited mix-ins are no additional charge, but the kids that work the counter do charge and said that their manager/owner said that they must charge. When I pointed it out and asked for the overcharge back, they refused to refund the difference and refused to call the manager.
The owner needs to know that if he is requiring his employees to charge for what the sign says is free, he should not be allowed to stay in business. Shame on him!

I know you are greatly pained by this but why don't you go and talk with the manager? Seems sort of silly to come on here and rant about ice cream mix-ins. 4951

Have t been to marble slab in years. But who knows, after a three day binge as @BooBear suggests, hand mixed ice cream might be in order. After all, it isn't on the bone and it doesn't have a face. 4951

Ice cream does sound good now that the weather is warming up. I don`t think that I have been to Marble slab, but I think that I will give it a try tomorrow. 4951

Not *****ing, not ranting. Looking out for fellow consumers and their hard-earned money.
I did ask for the manager. The guy said he is the manager. Then I said that's great - he can fix the error. Then he said he's NOT the manager and gave me the phone number for the manager, which, as I stood there and called the number, was ringing at the store.
There were a ton of service mistakes before it came to this. I gave every opportunity to correct, but they acknowledged the sign and still refused to give back the money that was overcharged. What sense does that make?
Would you want to know if a business is stealing money from its customers, so you can avoid their establishment? What other power do we as a consumer collective, have? What will ensure honesty and integrity, if it doesn't come from within the individual?
I have never been there before and will not go again. 4951

Sorry - I've only lived in the area for 3 years. I haven't had much experience on this site, but was compelled to alert my neighbors so to save them from frustration. The experience was just so odd and alarming that I thought it surely had to be a misunderstanding, but, alas, was not. I tried to speak sense. It became clear that the business knew exactly what they were doing to the customers.
 
I also am obliged to applaud great service - which I received from Ace, Kelsey-Seybold, RC's Pizza, and Kingwood Family Dental.
If saying "hello" is what is considered customary, I can do that, also.
Every "site" has it's own hazing, I suppose. 4951

I've been dying to ask: just how many extra topping dos you add to make them start charging you for it?
 
I'm all for goodies, but aside from chopped nut sprinkles or one main mixer, I'm don't like to overlead ice cream that's already really good starting out. 4951

Also, most of us read very well, so multiple or repeat postings, 10-12 minutes apart are just not necessary. We ARE just talking ice cream, not a national security emergency warranting repetitive posts. 4951

@elguapo: That's funny as I used that today on the golf course as I was paying my bets-that ii's not fair that just cause they were better than me (they really aren't-just had a bad day) that I have to pay them. That when Bernie's the Prez-we're all going to be the same and everybody is going to pay equally whether they shot better or not. Just not fair.
