I would never, never, never allow my child to be put in a papoose. I would also never leave my child alone in the room with a dentist.  We searched for a dentist that would allow us to stay in the room with our kids.  The fact that many don't is mind blowing to me and the papoose thing is awful!! 4951

@HotterThanYou:
We started taking ours to a childs dentist at age of two. They would let him lay in chair with me and just have him open mouth and peek in. No work done, just was to get him used to the dentist and mouth looking. Plus if they did see something to be concerned about was a good time to find out. Was up in Canada... 4951

@mutton: yep. When we first got here we took my middle daughter to the dentist off 494 in porter. They called her back and as i stood up they said i could wait there. I asked if i could go back and they said no. We walked out.

What a horrible story. Mine is 4 years old too, and I can't even imagine.....We go to the pediatric dentist on Lake Houston next door to the Texas Childrens doctors office. They are awesome. They not only let the parents come back with the kids, they insist. There are no restraining devices used at all. Was this dentist even a pediatric dentist?  Why would a 4-year old need caps?  4951

Selling dentistry. You'd be surprised. I had a dentist tell me my 3 year old needed caps and he would have to go under anesthesia. Got several more opinions and there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with his teeth. 4951

4 year old at the dentist?

@Ebola:

Lol. They actually recommend they start going when first tooth comes in. It's supposed to get them more acclimated with dental hygiene and just the dental office experience itself. At least that's what "they" say. 4951
