I would never recommend a friend to work for Thunder Gun Range unless they want to deal with a weird owner. 4951

@CBP210: A former friend of mine actually worked part time there for a while.  It was more of a hobby job on the weekends.  I'm not sure he even got paid (maybe just free range time and bullets).
He had some kind of fall out with the owner, but I never got the full story ... as he had a fall out with me soon after (he thought I was f'ing his wife, which I didn't do... it was her boss and others). 4951

@Odin: I am not surprised as the owner is a ****** and seems to come up with these crazy ideas. His wife is the one person I feel sorry for but at the same time she is in denial about his weird behavior.

Here's my story. After NASA, I went to work for a crappy oil company with a terrible rep... but I had just gotten married and they were almost doubling my salary and offered me a big sign on bonus.  I lasted few years there but couldn't tolerate the people (company full of jerks... the recruiter even told me to expect that).  It was always meant as a means to get my salary range up, so it worked out for me anyway.I got a job with the very best employer in the city, hands down.  Awesome.  A few years in and the CEO/chairman left.  Then it went to hell quickly. Then I left for the company that had the second best rep in the city, nice sign on bonus, higher pay, great coworkers, very progressive work policies... awesome.  Then, a few years later the CEO left (see a pattern here).  and it went to hell, total hell... the replacement CEO was the DEVIL.So here I am, thinking of the next steps - long term (short term I have contract work). If anyone knows of an awesome company that they want to turn into a terrible one, please let me know.  I can promise you, with my luck, in several years it will get bought out or something and will go to hell. Short it on the stock market. 4951

@ET: It was an unpleasant time in my life.Yeah, he had a reason to be upset with me.  I knew about what she was doing and didn't tell him.  But I didn't want him to kill her.  and as we all know... the messenger always gets it too (no matter how subtle one is).  lose/lose either way. 4951

And the trend, well the way you describe the common item is you making jobs toxic

@Stealth83: I have no effect on a CEO destroying the culture of an entire corporation.  Other than bad luck.  But I am very strong in the force so who knows.
