Has anyone tried a Mississippi Roast?  Would you make any revision to the recipe?  I'm thinking of making one. 4951

Crock Pot Mississippi RoastIngredients 1 beef chuck roast l pkg dry ranch dressing mix 1 pkg mccormick au jus gravy mix 1 stick butter (optional) 4-5 pepperoncini peppers ***  I add more pepperoncini peppers and I also add jalapenos 4951

I got this one off of here and it was insane good! I tried to make it without the butter but it failed. Think the butter somehow cuts the heat and also makes it much softer. Jalapeño Pot Roast


4 lbs Chuck roast1 package dry Ranch dressing1 package Au Jus mix1 8 oz jar peperoncini1 8 oz jar jalapeno slices1 stick butter
In a crock pot, place the chuck roast. Next add in the remaining
ingredients on top of the roast in the order they are in. Cook in crock
pot 8 hours or until meat is easy to cut with a fork. Serve over mashed

Any time we make a roast of any kind, we peel a bunch of garlic gloves, stab the meat, and push in a whole garlic clove in each stab (more than one if the garlic clove is small or the stab is deep).  Repeat all over the roast! Sometimes, I also push a stalk of green onion (the white part) and maybe a slice of fresh jalapeno into the stabbed holes. 4951

@Retired_Engineer, is that a Louisiana thing?  I do that to my roasts too. Can anyone tell me if the Mississippi roast can be cooked in the oven? 4951
