Alright guys, I'm sick of Suddenlink continuously raising my cable/Internet bill and taking away channels. I'm looking into other companies and need suggestions. I live in Kings mill. At&t u-verse doesn't service my area but DirecTV does. Anybody have anything good or bad to say about DirecTV?? Any other companies I can look into??? Thank you!!! 4951

@thegoodwife: X's 2. Exactly what she said. I've had them all and Direct is a step above all of them. Their DVR and picture quality is excellent.

I have DirectTV in two homes here and two in Missouri.

They haven't increased my rate for over five years. Every time they mention it, I threaten to drop satellite all together. They only say "Thank You.

Service is excellent in all locations. 4951

I am a Disher here.  Love Dish, but current house has too many trees to get a reliable signal.  You would still have to keep Suddenlink for internet or go to Centurylink, as they are the only two providers in most of the Wood. 4951

We currently use DirecTV but have also used DishNetwork.  Both are great.  The only negative is that the signal weakens and messes up if there is a big storm overhead.  Otherwise, much better than cable. 4951

@thegoodwife: Funny you should say that I left Direct due to customer service, I have had better luck with Dish....Guess it just depends who you deal with..

We had DirecTV for a long time but noticed the customer service has suffered since they announced they were being bought by AT&T, that and the bill had gotten unmanageable. Now I will admit that our chosen replacement, which was Dish, has worse hardware, worse picture quality and worse customer service so I really don't know what the solution is. DirecTV is probably still the best of a bad bunch. 4951

Good to know.... after doing a little research it looks like my only options are to stay with the plan I have or switch to DIRECTV. Hopefully if they get bought out they can at least bring some of the channels back for the price increase. 4951

I love Directv....had for about four years now.

The nasty is they try to sign you to a two year. They have a one year.....you just have to push the phone rep hard to get it

I got lucky because I moved, canceled and then they wanted me back so I bit and got the current sign-up.

Got NFL Sunday ticket for free, premier pkg including all premiums and HDs for 120/mo. on just a year contract.

Work the deal and you will be ok. Signal issues are extremely rare.....just during heavy rain.

Further....I had Suddenstink and fired them. They were awful

If you sign Lmk and with my account number we will both get 10 bucks off per month 4951

I had Dish but their DVRs are just a joke. I finally switched to DirecTV when I got tired of Dish not carrying ROOT Sports and not having any plans to ever do so. I have to watch my Astros and Rockets. Love DirecTV so far. Their equipment is FAR superior to Dish and the picture quality is unmatched.  4951

@CartmanUK35: I grew tired of keeping up with the time limited discounts like 5 dollars off HBO or some other premium channel for 6 months. The problem is you're in for a shock when the discounts expires. I asked for the standard rate with no time limited discount that way my monthly bills should be consistent. Otherwise Direct TV is, as you say, the best of the bunch at least for me it is.
