My DD wants to play the flute in 6th grade and my budget is extremely tight at the moment and I don't expect it to get better in the near future. Â We went to test the instruments tonight and she definitely wants to play the flute. Â The girl who was showing the instruments was surprised that she was able to step up and blow into the flute properly after only being told once how to do it. Â She was very surprised at how well she did. Â Â I am checking at my church also but wanted to see if anyone on here had one for cheap that they wanted to let go. Â The band instructor said we can take them to him March 31st to check out to be sure it is up to standards for school. Thanks so much in advance.

There are some really inexpensive ones on there. If you are comfortable with meeting someone in a public place or at a police station, it may be worth a shot to see if you can get the funds together for her. If not, as another poster suggested, you may have to wait until you can and enroll her in choir in the meantime. I played clarinet in middle school and rented. Hope you find something affordable. When all else fails, see if there is a bill you can eliminate, such as cable, internet, etc. That would free up some funds for the monthly rental fee. You may also want to check eBay. Hope it works out for you!
