I find it uncommonly disturbing we have these leaders with staunch opinions on security like him and Obama but these are some of the most heavily guarded people in the world. They  are telling everyone, yeah, you don't need all this security. This juxtaposition of those with it  telling others they do not need it yet people overall just ignore it or agree with them...meh.  4951

I found it odd that he stuck his nose in our politics and said building a wall means Trump is not a Christian yet he said nothing about Hillary and Bernie being for abortions. The Pope should think about which is more unchristian, killing babies or controlling our borders. I am a Catholic too. One of my best friends is a priest in New Orleans. its so odd for the pope to say this about a wall and nothing to the dem candidates on killing babies. 4951

Some might remind the Pope that it's not exactly Christian like accepting a Crucifix featuring Jesus nailed to the Communist Hammer And Cycle, especially considering how many millions of people have died under the rule of Communism....  Also, that the Pope was supposedly elected to seek and spread the Word Of God instead of his own obvious Socialist views and agenda.....  4951

Joh 18:36 Jesus answered: My Kingdom is no part of this world. If my Kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my Kingdom is not from this source. 4951

And....?

@ET:

Jesus set the example. He respected the role of government on earth but preached about a heavenly one. He didn't get involved with politic of his day. .
Joh 6:15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. 4951

It's not for me to say. I honestly don't follow the politics myself. Just an interesting thought when you consider what Jesus would do. 4951

Wow

I guess I missed something. I didn't see or hear what was actually said so I don't know all the facts.

However, I'm assuming the Pope was addressing a group of people who have strong emotions regarding a wall between Mexico and the USA. Further, from what I have heard, the Pope didn't identify Donald Trump by name. He simply stated that building a wall was not a Christian-Like thing to do. Others took it from there.

I'm thinking that if someone had brought the subject of abortion up, the Pope would have made a similar comment.

In my opinion, the church should stay away from government and political issues. But it doesn't mean he can't express his opinion as to what is Christian-Like or what is not.

Finally, when are we going to understand that people in special positions require special security. That security is protecting that position, not that person.

I don't want nor do i need much personal security, but if i were the Pope or a President, King or Queen of a country I could definitely see the need for increased security.

My fear of Mr. Trump is that these are topics that will alienate the USA from the rest of the world under his Presidency. We don't live on an island, we're part of the world and have to recognize that. 4951

Once a person gets a podium, has cameras pointed at his/her face, and microphones to speak into, that person will start talking about their own opinions and blathering about what OTHERS should do.... even more so if they are "in charge" or "lead" something.  If we could make all the hypocrites in Washington DC disappear, Congress and the White House would be empty except for servants, cooks, and maybe some Secret Service personnel. 4951
