I need advice! My sister in law is expecting! Her best friend( who is also pregnant and getting ready to move to Houston in July offered to host the baby shower in June at her house back home in SLC. Mind you it's going to be probably over 100 people at least(my sisters baby shower we had over 100)! My sil is the baby of a large LDS family we have a big Catholic family it's going to be coed with kids so a big crazy mess! How do I say thank you but no thank you? 4951

Where does your SIL want to have HER shower? That would be the big question. If she wants it back home, then attend if you can or politely decline if you cannot. You realize there can be more than one shower, right? You could have one for her here for those that cannot make it to the other shower. 4951

Sometimes, ladies that pregnant aren't thinking super clearly and almost all thoughts are inward and self-centered. If you can afford to go, then go and have fun, if not, then graciously decline, guilt free.

If she lives THERE, sounds like she smartly doesn't want to travel late in the pregnancy for a second shower, and then I say ship it FedEx 2-day air or FedEx Ground, regrets and catch ya next time!
