I do sometimes then feed the yolks to the cat and dog. Every time they hear an egg crack they come running now. 4951

I eat the whole egg. Either boiled or scrambled.  Every decade or so the studies change on the health value of the egg yolk.  I only separate them for recipe that's calls for it.   4951

The only time I separated an egg was because the recipe called for egg whites.Much of the nutritional content of eggs is in the yolk.  While the yolk contains most of the cholesterol, 75%+ of the cholesterol in your body is converted by your liver, so the food you eat basically only controls a quarter of your cholesterol count.  4951

@Brat. That's gross! Lol

I buy egg whites, in the carton. Trying to keep calories down and protein up I'll use one whole egg plus whites. 4951

I eat the whole egg.  The only time  I separate is when a recipe calls for it.  Besides, the yolk is my favorite part!  The yolk does contain some cholesterol but it also has many benefits as well.Egg yolks contain 100% of the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K as well as all the carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin found in an egg. They also contain more than 90% of the calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, thiamin, folate, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. 4951

MYTH: Egg Yolks Are Bad For YouThe Truth: Not only are eggs a fantastic source of lean protein and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, but they contain some pretty important nutrients.One large egg has roughly 186 milligrams of cholesterol — all of which is found in the egg’s yolk. Since dietary cholesterol was once thought to be the major cause of unhealthy blood cholesterol, egg yolks have been demonized and health nuts stick to eating strictly egg whites.The real threat to high cholesterol is saturated and trans fats, not dietary cholesterol. Years ago, when scientists learned that high blood cholesterol was associated with heart disease, foods high in cholesterol were thought to be the leading cause of unhealthy blood cholesterol. Now, 25 years later, scientists have come to the conclusion that cholesterol in food is not the true villainLINKStudies have shown that regularly eating eggs can actually lower your low density lipids (that's "bad" cholesterol to us lay people) and raises high density lipids.LINKMyth: You should be eating a maximum of three eggs per week.This guideline came about in the 1970s, after the American Heart Association recommended that dietary cholesterol be limited to 300 milligrams or less per day.Recently, however, the American Heart Association has updated their recommendation, making it clear that eggs (including the yolk) can absolutely be part of a healthy eating plan – every day!LINKGOOGLE has many more 4951

If you're going to eat the yolks, the trick is to not combine it with a saturated fat such as sausage or bacon. I eat a vegetable omelet along with slices of avocado almost every morning. 4951

@WskyTngoFxtrt: I eat avocado with about anything.  I have even spread it on toast instead of butter.

@Weathergirl5:

Have you tried baking an avocado with a whole egg cracked in the center where the seed was? It's really good! I top mine off with a little pico for some added spicy. 4951

@Maisey1: No but that sounds yummy!  Does the yolk stay runny?  I like  runny yolks.  How long do you typically bake it for and at what temp?
