And as I’ve argued, broadly speaking, conservatives understandably see Trump as a threat to conservatism, in part precisely because Trump’s voters (who tend to be non-ideological) seem to believe government should be able to play a constructive role in making the economy work for them. Trump is not arguing that government is the problem; he’s arguing that stupid and/or corrupt government is the problem, because it’s not working for you and is instead working for illegals and major corporations and China.LINKGreg Sargent writes The Plum Line blog, a reported opinion blog with a liberal slant -- what you might call “opinionated reporting” from the left.  4951

A Dem always knows why things are the way they are in the Republican party.  If you listen to them I dont know why anyone would vote Republican, Ever. 4951

@dac2010: Just as I don't see how one would vote for a democrat... especially either of the two running for this election.  Emoticon

From what I hear on the news and news magazine shows, the Dems are screaming about this or that not being right, discrimination, radical agendas, fraud, yada yada yada.  Hello?  Where have they been for the last 7+ years?  Have they forgotten so quickly all of the slimy, underhanded things this CURRENT administration has done to ram his anit-American socialist agenda down the throats of the American people, WHO DO NOT WANT IT!!!  Hello Nobama CareHello Pelosi and her minions with "we have to pass it so you can see what's in it"Hello Clinton and her scandals, too many to list. 4951

@foxymama: Maybe there never were any classy politicians and we just didn't know any better. The level of information available today is just unprecedented. Besides most voters aren't looking to elect the Pope but someone to promote their agenda or champion their cause.

I was listening to Rush the other day on the way to the Woodlands.  A guy called in from upstate NY.  Life long Democrat, union worker.  He called to tell Rush that he and his friends are voting for Trump.  For him it is all about someone bringing jobs back to the US and he said Trump would do this and could do this.  I think that is the appeal of Trump.  He is talking about issues that matter.  Jobs, Safety of our country from terrorists (he actually says the word terrorist), and securing our boarder.  I have never been a Trump fan, but lately, it is hilarious to see him just say what everyone is thinking.  His nonfilter is so much better than the pandering lies from Hillary and fantasy of free land from Bernie.  However, of the 2, I will say Bernie is a much more decent human than Hillary.  But then again, Satan has more integrity than HillaryEmoticon

@Fallon:

I think Bernie is a decent human being and is stiving for what HE thinks is the betterment of the country. Unfortunately if he or others like him win then a free America with the chance to make anything you want of your life with enough drive and determination, will be religated to the past. 4951

Actually if you go back to our beginning you will find that politics has always been a dirty business.  Lincoln lied during his election.  Jefferson and Madison would dole out name calling.  I don't think it is any worse than it has been.  You have to be pretty self centered to go into this to begin with.The lies, name calling, and dirty deals have always been a part of the political agenda.We just have to pick the one with the one who can survive to get on the ticketEmoticon

@Fallon:

Go back to Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson. That was a three ringed circus! Lol. There was some serious name calling in that race, but I'm pretty sure they didnt use the P word. Oy! 4951

@Nurse3: The ideal candidate would have a combination of Sanders and Kasich's sincerity but Hillary and Trump's aggression.  LOL

@uneasyrider:

I just want someone who is sincere about putting this country back together and not just looking to win. We have such a debacle going on right now that is making us weaker and weaker. I want a serious candidate that will come in, kick some butt in our government and the world stage. I know, keep dreaming. 4951
