Why does USPS even attempt to give an anticipated delivery date or even offer "2 day" shipping. I recently placed a lot of online orders to make a baby gift basket for my co-worker. Some stuff on 2 day mail took 4 days, other things mailed regular mail only took 3 days. My most recent order involves my nicotine addiction, ejuice. It says it will be delivered today but it has been sitting in Arizona for the past 3 days and has not left. When I order from this company it usually takes 3 days to be delivered. I just wish they wouldn't even put an expected delivery date because it gets my hopes up only to check the mail and find out its not there. Out of my last 10 USPS packages, not a single one has been delivered the day they say it will be. I just found out too that something was shipped out of New Caney, we'll it went to North Houston and back to New Caney. Really? Plus our lockers for large packages don't lock and they won't fix them so I'm afraid someone might take my package because it's never locked. To add 1 nice comment about them. The people that work at the New Caney post office are so much nicer then the people working at the Kingwood office. I had to go on a rant because it's been bugging me for weeks. 4951

USPS didn't even run down my street yesterday. I guess they are waiting for a wad of mail to deliver. He may of even put the stuff in the wrong box. I have received other peoples bank statements I just put it back in the box and raise the flag. How many people don't do that and keep things like that? 4951

@friday1: We're having the same problem. My neighbor got a neighbor's bank statement and another's W-2. We both only got half of the store circulars last Wednesday.I mailed a packed to PA last Tuesday, 5p from the post office - it was delivered last Thursday. Yet, I'm still waiting on a W-2 mailed from NJ on 1/27. (Bang head against wall.) It's ridiculous.

Thats why I dont pay extra for shipping from USPS no matter the size.  I dont pay for tracking # either because everytime I mail something that needs to be weighted I get a receipt with the number anyway at no cost and even if it did show up marked as delivered that dont mean to the correct address and good luck with the mail person remembering what house it was delevered to if  wrong.   4951

I didn't get mail yesterday either now that you mention it. If I get my neighbors mail I usually drop it at their door or back in the mail box. A few months back I had a phone delivered through them. They put it in the box and gave someone else the key. Lucky for me they left it there and I just so happen to be freaking out and check all the opened boxes and there it was.
Back at Christmas I had my husband's gifts delivered to my work. They were kind of last minute so when they said they were delivered I rushed up there on my day off to wrap them before he got home only to find out they weren't delivered until 2 days later. 4951

This is why I go paperless for anything I possibly can.I placed two orders with the same company at the same time, they were picked and shipped from the seller's warehouse on the same day, the arrived in Houston on the same day, then they were delivered to my house 4 days apart.  One on the expected day, the other late in the evening 4 days later. 4951

I never received a w-2 and a lender statement for doing taxes and wonder if they were delivered to someone else. Luckily I can just get them online. I get other people's mail all the time and either walk it over to them or put it back in for redelivery - it would be nice if others would do the same if my mail is misdelivered. 4951

The issue is no one is holding the local USPS offices accountable, and the mail carriers do not sort the mail they deliver.  Everyone who has issues needs to file a complaint online with the post office.  Google how to file a complaint against usps for links to make a complaint.  4951

About a year or 2 ago I ordered saltwater fish online because they were not sold in stores. They decided to use USPS priority overnight because FedEx couldn't ship at the moment because their plane was down. Well it got stuck in Houston and I received a big box of dead fish worth a few hundred dollars. USPS apparently gave the shipper problems getting their money back. The shipper resent it with UPS and everything arrived alive. 4951

I've never heard of buying fish online and having them shipped.  I would have thought local pet stores to be the only option.  Learn something new everyday. 4951

Saltwaterfish.com.
The closest store with a good selection is off 290 and the beltway called Aquarium World. But we wanted more exotic stuff than they carried. I think the fish are healthier when we order online too. They seem to arrive less stressed then when we buy at a store. Certain corals, like the torch coral are sold there for about $150 for a small coral but we got a big one for about $50 online. I try to support Aquarium World when I can but when it's a substantial difference like that I go online. 4951

@friday1:  We must have the same mail carrier.  About once a week or so our entire street does not receive mail.  When we do receive it  it comes about 8:30/9:00 at night.  I have even seen the mail carrier drive down the street and not stop at any houses. I guess so she can say she did the route?
