Lucky for me, I can ignore most of this dribble, but one must wonder why some people feel compelled to do this multiple times a week. 4951

I just don't put a lot on Facebook. I check in only when I'm somewhere noteworthy, I don't take a ton of selfies and I don't feel the need to document every day of my life. We all have our vices but Facebook is not mine. 4951

I'm actually getting sick of Facebook and thinking of deleting my account. It's good to keep in touch with people but I hate all the stupid games, and chain crap, and go find me pages. I find myself getting on there less and less. 4951

I can't bring myself to delete my account, I have found it an excellent way to keep up with old friends, it has resulted in several people looking me up so we could get together when they are in town.  Meeting up with someone you have not seen in 25 years is worth the price of admission to me.  About half of my friends are childhood friends from Scotland, and being an oil town, several have made it through Houston.  I don't post much, and I really don't check it that much, the political and religious ramblings, along with overt racism and just pure ignorance are getting very hard to wade though.I like seeing where an old friend's kid is getting married, or seeing current family pics from the other side of the world, but pretty sure Jesus is not sending me to hell for not sharing a post.  If I get too tired of all the BS, I will keep the account, just so old friends can message me directly, but just stop checking the news feed altogether.   4951

@Weathergirl5: Some of that you can eliminate through settings or options. It is a little tedious, but most can be removed. Of course not all of it. But ignore notifications from these apps (games and such) can be checked. Also it WAY easier to do from a PC than a mobile device.

I use it to keep in touch with my family who would rather do this than pick up a phone...  I have 95% +/- of the "crap" blocked so I really only see their stuff and things from my few friends.

My Facebook feed is 90% recipes.  If I wanted to see a ton of recipes I'm not going to make, I'd just go on Pinterest. 4951

I enjoy having a Facebook page, but my brother-in-law constantly shares those things that say if you type Amen you will be blessed with money.  I keep wanting to type "get a job and be blessed with money" 4951

My newsfeed is often cluttered with the ramblings of an old friend who is sending coded messages to his ex girlfriend, because he believes her friends are spying on his page, even though he has her blocked. Many people have commented that he's making himself look crazy. I don't block him though. I just usually scroll past the ramblings.

Those Tasty videos are getting old. Although some of them are kind of interesting. Some of them are just basic common sense preparations that make me wonder if people really don't know how to cook. 4951
