Hey y'all,Just wondering what a decent brand of interior paint would be?  Some that would not cost an arm and a leg, but not cheap.  In between, and still good quality.thanks so much! 4951

we used Bear paint  on all our walls & so far it has been the best we have found , cost was $35.00 to $40.00 a gallon . You can find it at Lowes 4951

Behr, by far the best.  It is only sold at Home Depot though.  I would stay far away from Valspar.  They have about 23% less pigment in their paint than others.   4951

I think I bought their Duration paint.  It is a flat/satin finish.  And you can wash the walls with no issues with the paint at all.

@Fallon:  Used this in my living room.  I am so surprised at how easily it cleans up.   It is nice that is does not fade and you can touch up a year or two later and it is not noticeable.

Sherwin Williams is the best from my experience. Does not require as many coats as Lowes and Home Depot paints. Tried to paint some new crown molding with Lowes paint. Took like 4 coats. Never again.  4951

Behr paint and only Behr paint. I've tried SW a couple of times- not impressed. I've been using Behr for nearly 20 years ( I think-13 in this house and 7 in the last one).
My Dad was a SW man- I found Behr to be superior in coverage and I just like how it feels on the brush and roller. And the paint lasts forever- extremely durable 4951

We used the Behr paint with primer built in for the bathroom and bedroom, but Sherwin Williams everywhere else.  The guy we used for the bathroom/bedroom had worked pretty much with Behr, but Sherwin WIlliams was the choice for the painters in the other rooms.  Have had no complaints with either. 4951

Sherwin-Wiloiams is over priced crap. Walls get very little abuse, so, really you are just coloring them. Glidden invented latex paint, and is my product of choice.  Good body, spreadability, and reasonably priced. Interior wall paint, $20-25. Don't pay more. You don't need it. I've been painting for 34 years.Dan the Handyman 4951

@DanStanton:

I have to disagree a little..not as a painting professional but a consumer. Some wall absolutely do take a beating..especially the wall by the stairs as everyone seems to grab the wall..some paints clean up better than others. Some last longer. Some do not fade as quickly in a room with sunshine. Glidden may be the best choice for someone that wants repeat business. 4951

I really like the SW for the lack of smell.  I painted 2 bedrooms and they were both able to be slept in that night.  The Duration just has a super low to no odor.  That alone makes it better imo.  I painted my whole house, and never had to deal with that new wet paint smell.

@Fallon: exactly I have to watch that due to lung nodules being stable. The less fumes and smell the better.
