Hubby just sprung the need of a near future trip to me. (Valentine's Day weekend.) Is there anything worth stopping & seeing between here & Nacogdoches? I've stopped for a bite to eat on a road trip home from Mississippi but have never actually visited Nac before. Any neat or interesting places anyone suggests stopping along the way or even once we get there? Thanks! 4951

I've stayed at the hotel Fredonia a couple of times that we have went to motorcycle rallys there . There is an old section of town with shops and brick / cobblestone roads . Not much else around there except college bars and a drive to the lake is nice . 4951

There's lot's of places to eat in Lufkin.  If you've never eaten at Ralph & Kacoo's, and if you like seafood, I highly recommend it.  It started in Baton Rouge and I grew up loving it.  We go to R&K in Baton Rouge whenever we go back there for a visit. My daughter went to Stephen F Austin in Nac and we visited her several times.  It's a small town with a university.  We usually just visited and took her out to eat. 4951

Clear Springs Restaurant in Nac and also Auntie Emoticonasta - both very good!!! Downtown shops are interesting and the SFA campus has some neat historical buildings/museums that are pretty neat to visit. 4951

@BooBear: I am starting to notice this is true of most small townsIf I hear one more "bless your heart" in a condescending tone, I am going to punch someone
