Where to get the BEST king cakes in the area. I've tried HEB and was extremely disappointed. Please tell me there's a better one within 30 miles! I will drive into Houston if I have to, but I'm hoping there's somewhere in kingwood or humble, atascocita area????? 4951

Not sure what to tell you- I found HEB's King cake preferable to Rendozzo's. Not a fan of Rendozzo's. My fav is Ambrosia out of Baton Rouge. I've not found anything around here. 4951

I have not yet had a good one.  Had a taste of one from Gambinos and I just don't get all the fuss.  Guess that is the Yankee in me but they just taste....  ick.... 4951

@tatortot58  I wondered what they were last year.  I haven't tried it, but it looks unappealing.  4951

I agree with Fallon- not everyone's cup of tea. They are way too sugary for me. I wish there were little single serve ones- I could have a couple of bites and be done. Lol Maybe they could call them Bishop or priest cakes!! 4951

OK, I tasted a small here that was marked strawberry...  UGH!!!!  It was like red slime in the middle of some stale cinnamon bread with very sweet icing on top.    Guess I need to hold out and not try another one until it is decided who has the best. 4951

Yes I've had one from elite treats. I liked it. It was so fresh. I love Randazzo's though. 4951

@Sassafras - let me know how you like it.  It's the closest I've come to a good Louisiana king cake.  4951
