I have yet to observe a competent HR department. Granted the sample size is small, but still.
@ForeCPA90: I could sue the hell out of my soon to be ex employer. Â The incompetence of the actions taken by the HR department greatly added to what was already done. Â I'm not keen on lawsuits, but I could have them by the short hairs.
I have them on an FMLA violation, EEO violations (related to the medical issue) and hipaa (which is a criminal charge). Not going into details, but the lack of the promised promotion was the very least of what they did to me after my medical leave. Â I'm one of several that experienced the same treatment after a medical crisis, and those are just the ones I know about personally. Â Class action just waiting to happen. An exec started it, but HR didn't stop it. Â No way they don't know the basic rules regarding FMLA, EEO and Hipaa. Â Either incompetence or extreme arrogance and over confidence. They even pulled the cover up game by changing documents. I have the originals. Â
What I do in my area of work requires that I be able to comprehend and apply regulations.  They should have known better and not pulled this crap on me.  Besides, I know where the "bodies are buried" based on the type of data I am responsible for.  Sigh.....I guess if they try to shaft me out of my bonus before I leave, I might go nuclear on them.  But I'd just rather leave and let them be stuck with no one to keep them in compliance.  It will catch up to them eventually. If I go nuclear and decide to act legally and report issues they are involved in, you'll hear about it in the news. Granted, I'd never be able to get a perm job again no matter how right I am or how much good it does for others.  Being morally and legally in the right means nothing to future employers.... they just want drones that don't make waves. 4951
