Hi there! Wondering if anyone knows if it is against deed restrictions (ACIA) to have giant solar panels covering almost the entire roof of a house? I noticed this on a house in our neighborhood a week or so ago..... Anyone know? 4951
Actually a new state law started last year that allows solar panels even if the HOA has a bylaw against it. So it doesn't matter what the HOA says any more when it comes to these
@Stealth83: Great to know! They are on my "wish list" 4951

I guess... on a house out in the middle of a large piece of land ..... It's not pleasing to the eye in a residential neighborhood.... things like that is where it all begins.... 4951

@love4bdd: All what begins? Being more environmentally conscious? 4951
Well, I guess it is what you are used to. Crappy asphalt shingles aren't overly attractive either, but that is what we're used to. Post a picture if you get a chance. 4951

It's really not pretty.... For goodness sake they won't even allow you to have a small satellite on the sides of your house anywhere, but these are ok? I mean, I like the idea and all... but again, not pretty. 4951

"It all begins" = running down of the neighborhood.... first it's this, then cars being allowed to sit.... RV's parked in driveways, etc.... It's already happening... (There's a giant turquoise doll house in our neighborhood that has been that way for at least a year now) ~ And again, I'm fine with a lot of the "green" things .... but the allowance of these kinds of aesthetics just start to snowball...... 4951
I like the idea of solar shingles better than the panels, but I don't know how well they work. I also think Elon Musk's Powerwall is interesting. 4951
